I'm 15 weeks and haven't gained any weight yet. I've always had a hard time putting on pounds and came into pregnancy underweight. It's really starting to worry me. I feel like I'm always eating so I don't know why I'm not gaining. Is this hurting my baby? This is my first pregnancy and I'm very nervous to begin with. Has anyone else had a similiar experience? My next appt. is coming up and I dread stepping on that scale. Any input? Thanks in advance.

I lost weight in my first trimester. I was very thin to begin with. They were concerned at the OB's office. At my 20 week appointment I finally gained 4 pounds. I know I've gained more in the past month. I'm not eating any more than I was in the first trimester. I really can't eat any more. I get terrible heartburn and indigestion in the evening. In short, I'm gaining weight because I'm eating sufficiently for the baby to grow. I'm sure you'll catch up. Just eat healthy meals and eat until you are comfortably full. There really isn't any need to stuff yourself. If your doctor still isn't satisfied, try adding higher calorie snacks like cheese and whole yogurt.

Thank you, that really helps. I guess I'm just a tiny bit paranoid :) I just don't want to do anything wrong. Thanks again!
