I was on Celexa for about 3 years before we decided to get pregnant with this baby. I stopped taking it at the doctor's advice, for the health of the baby. I am now more depressed than I ever thought possible, and my husband can't handle it. He has started yelling at me, and calling me mentally unstable. Are these all prego hormones, or does anyone know if it's safe to take celexa? I am desperate. My marriage is truly on the rocks. Please, anyone, help me!!

Believe me I understand I have anxiety and I was on Prozac, with my last pregnancy I stopped taking it and it was terrible and then the PPD hit. I went back on it and I am 14 weeks 2 days pregnant now and on the Prozac. My doctor says that he knows plenty of patients on Prozac and Zoloft. Not treating the depression may be worse for the baby and your marriage. Good luck. There is a study that was done in 2007 that says antideppressents esp Prozac since it has been studied the longest is relatively safe to take during pregnancy. Read the studies make sure you are reading from 2007 New England Journal of Medicine. Good luck.
