Im almost 18 weeks pregnant and im not showing. I was not "overweight" when i became pregnant now was a seriously skinny. I have not felt the baby move yet, could there be something wrong. People make comments like "wow, your almost 5 months pregnant and you cant even tell!" Im becoming worried, I've also had dreams that i went in for my upcoming ultra sound and the baby wasnt alive. Anyone have advise, or encouraging words? thank you!

Its normal to not feel the movements (at first the are hard to notice) your baby is still so small that if you dont 100% know what to expect you may already be feeling movements and not even know... with my first I had no idea that some of the small gas bubble feelings I had had were her moving around... it wasn't till after like the 22nd or 23rd week that i really really felt her going to town in there, and the further it went the more and more noticiable it became. in the last month you could actually watch her body parts move across my stomach. As for the not looking pregnant, every womans body develops differently with pregnancy...and all babies grow at different rates, and the fear of finding out bad info on your next ultrasound is normal.... i was always freaked out... i went and bought every heartbeat monitor, a stethascope and anything else I could find that was to let me know everything was ok, needless to say those monitors dont really work so well.... and the stethescope never did lol... with my first I didn't pop out until 6 months but then BAM I looked 9 months pregnant like 2 weeks after i began to show. Now with my second I am only 4 months along and I hear from people all the time how they think I am further... so you win or lose with people who think that all woman will look identical for their pregnancies... also, with my first pregnancy, I only gained like 16lbs... i was only overweight by (what my Dr said) was about 15 lbs before i was pregnant and that body weight moved to my stomach, my thighs got super skinny, and so did my face, and the same is happening with this pregnancy... i have gained 6lbs... lost weight in my face and thighs and its gone to my stomach, it all normal... my best friend was 5'5 118lbs and she put on 90lbs with her pregnancy, (it all came back off but you see the extreme difference?) So know that it is normal, and your fears are normal, they dont go away lol... even when your babies kicks and movements become super pronounced- you will still worry when your LO is not moving, its all part of being a mom... (sorry to go on and on, i always do) I can't just get to the point LOL... so relax, and enjoy that next ultrasound, its so wonderful each time you get a lil peek at your LO, (and this one should be the gender one if you are chosing to do that so exciting!)

Thank you for your insight, This is my first pregnancy and i dont know what to expect. Early on i had hyperemises(chronic vomiting) I was put in a mother baby unit a couple different times to become hydrated again. After that i was doing okay, feeling better i was put on meds to control the vomitting. I felt i was showing more a month ago then i am now. I guess im more worried because i have lost weight and im continuing to loose weight. I still dont have an apet_te.

same here, don't worry. i'm 16 weeks and not showing at all. i'm pretty skinny and keep losing weight(the nurse is going to lecture me about it again). i was also worried, but reading stuff makes me feel better that i'm not the only one feeling this way. that it's normal. Will see what my doctor has to say, i have an appointment on wednesday. i hope everything is fine and my little munchkin is growing just fine :)

Don't worry! I was like 35 weeks and people didn't know i was pregnant with my first. I had BAD hyperemesis with my first too, so I barely gained weight. I even had one person tell me that I hadn't gained enough weight and my baby wouldn't be okay and she was a complete stranger. Well, my baby was perfectly healthy and 7lbs 8oz! So don't listen to anyone, so long as your doctor thinks you're okay then you're okay. It sometimes takes time to recognize movement with your first baby. If you're really worried about it talk to your doctor, so they can rea__sure you. Hugs, I hope you feel better soon!
