Hi, I went to my regular OB appt. today and I am 24 weeks 5 days. She gave me my glucose drink and told me I will do the test at my next appointment in 4 weeks. Well, when I went to set my appt. they couldn't get me in for 5 weeks (April 25th) and I will be 30 weeks that day!!! I was told this test needs to be done by week 28? Is this a problem and should I call and question the dr? I hate to do that but worry maybe she wasn't paying attention or something.

Well, I called the nurse and she said that it is ok at 30 weeks...it is at the tail end of when they do them, but she said it is ok. I guess I'll have to be fine with that then? I'm not going to argue it, but I worry that if they find a problem it will be kind of late in dealing with it. Would eating less sugar help the outcome of getting GD, or is it something that women get regardless of how they eat? I'm average weight and don't eat a ton of sugar, but do love a dessert daily (is that bad, LOL!?) ha ha

STEF - my little worry wart - you will be fine - all will be well - stop looking on the internet...LOL it's ok really - a daily desert isnt' bad so long as the rest of your eating is balanced! you are more at risk of you are overweight and if it runs in your family and since you are a skinny broad LOL you are safe
