Ok, I need some help. I am 22 weeks I have a fever of about 99.5. I am not feeling much of symptoms, just really nasal and a little nausea every now and then. I have actually had the flu, during like week 11 and a fever of 101 back then, and the doctor said the baby was fine. I don't want to take any tylenol, does anyone have a suggestion. I don't think im loosing the baby, but im very nervous!! I would call the doctor but its after hours, I hope this is not a reason to go to the ER!

Don't hesitate taking Tylenol. There have been tons of studies and all show that Tylenol is perfectly safe for pregnancy. I am currently 27 weeks 6 days and about two months ago I had diagnosed influenza. I was a__surred by both my OB and the nurse that as long as I took the Tylenol as directed on the bottle that me and the baby would be fine. If you need relief at night as well, the Tylenol PM is fine as well. As a matter of fact you can take it even if you just need help getting to sleep. Take the Tylenol if you need it, I promise it will not hurt you or the baby. Let me know how you are doing.

Hey mom2be97 - I had a similar post and mjvdec 01 told me the same thing - plus my doc just told me the same thing at my check up about 2 hours ago - they prefer you to take a recommended dose of tylenol (which i think is the same as panadol here in Aus) then to let your fever get to high. :)

Hi Ladies!! thank you so much for your help! I feel a little more relived. I took one Extra Strength Tylenol last night before I went to bed. At that point it was about 100.0. This morning it finally started to break, at 7:30 it was finally back to normal. Im feeling ok, but now im not feeling the baby move as much. You are right, I would rather break the fever asap rather than letting it get higher. I hope the fever didn't do anything serious :)

MOM2Be97- I take tylenol almost everyday. I have really bad back pain and I have to take it to go to bed at night. Tylenol is very safe and will not harm the baby. Plus when you are pregnant your temp goes up a degree.
