How Does Stress Affect The Baby

This may seem like a silly question, but I am just curious. For whatever reason (hormones, stress, happy, etc) everyone starts saying that I will hurt the baby if I to cry. If crying is so freaking bad, then why do our hormones make us cry more often? I had a really stressful weekend dealing with family issues, and I ended up getting upset, and, of course, the hormones went into overdrive again, and I started crying. Everyone started worrying about the baby and telling me to calm down. I finally told them to let me finish crying and I would be fine. How can me crying hurt the baby? Sorry is this is a stupid question.

I don't think crying actually hurts I think its more of us getting too worked up. Blood pressure spiking, freaking out, stressing out, blah blah, all that sort of stuff. Its not good for people period. I don't know how harmful it actually is though, crying is natural. . . it can't be too horrible. I know late in the third trimester a woman's stress can be pa__sed on to the baby. in a physical sense actually. They can aspire meconium into the womb (some babies do it for other reasons) which is quite dangerous if not treated asap. I'm not an expert but I'm sure if you ask your doctor or go to webmd they could explain it better.

I dont think its crying, But stress can make a major impact on a pregnant woman. It can cause high blood pressure, which can lead to premature birth. Ive also found that the stress you are feeling can pa__s through to the baby and put them in fetal distress and again cause preterm labor.... Now the percentage of women that actually go into preterm labor due to this... i have no idea. I wouldnt think its alot because theres ALOT of women out there stressd to their limit while being pregnant.

Hopeful I dont knwo that the actual crying part is bad for the baby - crying is actually one of the bodies ways of actually releasing stress and tension buildup. I think it may have more to do with the actuall stress that women get under and getting themselves all worked up internally that is a problem causer. I cry all the time - pregnant or not!! lol! I am sure that part of it is ok , as long as you can unwind yourself if you get too worked up along with your tears. Babies cry all the time and it helps them feel better!! :)
