Aw. Thats so sweet ladies! a baby boy and a baby girl. Very Nice. My husband and I have decided to NOT find out... we are going to keep it a surprise. So I am 19weeks today, and still havent felt a good solid kick. I feel flutters or jabs here and there- but it is so light and quick that before I can think about it, its gone. Can't wait for that good solid kick! haha Everything is going very smoothly... i cant believe next week will already be the midpoint... .wow time flies....

Hi ladies, Went in yesterday for the BIG ultrasound. Great news is EVERYTHING looks healthy and normal and where it ought to be. Then we found out the baby is going to be a BOY. To be honest, some of the fun in guessing is gone now (obviously) but mostly I'm just super relieved that everything looks good. Still having some stomach issues, but otherwise doing okay. Have been swimming and did some light yard work over the weekend...OMG did my feet hurt like a son of a gun after that! I've finally put on a couple of pounds (one of which is the baby apparently...I cringed when the tech told me this she was like "OH, he's quite big already..." I was like "Please don't say that..." I'll probably have a 10lb baby). Still wearing mostly normal clothes, but do use the waist expander for an extra inch or so. Have been switching over to the medium maternity tops my sister in law sent up, however. I'm glad to be halfway through though... I look forward to getting the pregnancy over with and starting the motherhood time. Hope all is well out there! Hugs

That is so awesome PinkAmerican - glad to hear all is well. And congrats on the little boy!!! I have my appt this Friday - so they tell you right away if all is good? Thats a relief- we leave for our babymoon Saturday and I thought I would be sitting poolside for a week wondering how things went.... glad they tell you right away

Rpats, I hope Friday goes well...our technician answered all our questions...we down the list of organs and asked what EVERYTHING we saw was. We asked her some of the terminology she might use if issues did arise (such as ambiguous gender if the fetus had both sets of genitalia visible...I guess it can be seen this early). One of the photos we got we could actually 'see' the eye and the lense...that was a little weird. But yeah, she told us everything was well within normal range and a little on the big/long side. Sigh...delivery is going to be fun if that's any indicator.

Thanks so much PinkAmerican- i am so glad I read your post. hehe- maybe you have a little football player or basketball player there! :) I know, I keep hearing all my fam and friends talk about their labor experiences.... not one is the same as the next... so I have no clue what to expect. I try not to think about it too much... hahaha So have you ladies been feeling good solid kicks?? I am still only feeling flutters- very light, and by the time i put my hand on my belly, it stops. I am 20 weeks today.... gained about 2 pounds so far... but man has the shape of my belly changed.... so weird. Well, let's hope this little one doesnt bare it all to us tomorrow! We dont want to find out the s_x!!!

It's been so quiet here...was wondering how everyone is doing??? My baby boy has been building a fortress in my uterus for the amount of activity I'm feeling. The honeymoon of the second trimester is coming to an end. At 24 weeks, my weight gain is at 8.5 lbs from my start weight. My midwife is happy with it. God help me I feel 'more' pregnant everyday. I think I've finally found the psychological answer to my concern about delivery anxiety...there are so many pains in life (illness, heartache) that you never know how long will take to be over...there's no clear end. However, once I start labor, I know that the pain will end with in 'hours' and result in a baby. I like knowing there's a clear ending there. BTW, we're meeting a perspective Doula tomorrow...anyone else looking into hiring one?

Hey PinkAmerican! So glad to hear from someone- i have popped into this forum a few times this month, but its been so quiet! I completely hear you- will be 24 weeks tomorrow, and i swear the past week alone has just been change after change. I feel like i look pregnant - but almost like it happened overnight... i just popped and havent stopped. I am so curious to see how much i have gained- at my 5month check up i had still only gained a pound. but i see a HUGE difference from them to now. WIll find out Monday. I think the change in physical appearance has made this all the more real for me. I now find myself having weird dreams about childbirth- lol- think the anxiety of the actual labor part of all this is finally setting in. The past two dreams I have had - I had a baby girl.... wonder if that is a sign. haha I must say, it feels good to physically look pregnant.... rather than feel odd/chubby/out of whack :)

oh- and as for activity- the baby is def very active at times... but I still cannot feel it from the outside. My husband is dying to feel a kick- but when he puts his hand there, he either cant feel it, or the baby stops. :) I keep telling him to have some patience...I think he will be able to feel something in the next couple of weeks for sure.

Ladies! where are you guys at??? This forum has been SO quiet! I hope everyone is doing well.... any of us leaving this one and entering the 3rd Trimester forum yet? I am 26 weeks so soon for me! I am feeling great... definitely feeling the effects of having a tummy... but it feels so nice to feel the baby move inside me. Glucose tests came back normal, so that is a relief.... now on to scheduling my 3D and 4D ultrasounds.. cant wait to take a peek at the little one in greater detail! How is everyone else doing?

PinkAmerican - October 17

Hi Rpats... I think it's you and me holding down the fort...we'll have to switch to THIRD trimester around Halloween...I think it'd be official for everyone then. Also, I look forward to hearing about your 3D and 4D experience...have you posted maternity photos anywhere? I've been forced to do so on Facebook as family and friends pester me to no end. Anywho, things are good here. Baby is super active. I hate the "OMG, I have to pee...wait, no I don't" kicks. Still active myself. Weight gain stands at 14 pounds at the end of week 26. I'm feeling alright with that. It's 100% belly growth...everything else looks the same...okay except for the b___bs...they're looking a bit freakish. Heartburn is an ever annoying issue as well as motivation to eat a variety of stuff. Why can't I live off of pancakes? People call more often to ask how things are :) and give unsolicited advice :( The nursery is basically set up...have the co-sleeper, carseat, baby swing and more. And I'm not shamed to say all of it is gently used either from Craigslist of friends. We're serious about saving for college starting now! Other things accomplished: ~Registered for cord blood registry ~Contracted with Doula ~Set up Maternity photos ~Finished baby quilt On my 28 week visit in one week's time I do a second glucose test AND they're probably going to sched ANOTHER ultrasound. She says I'm measuring big (and the baby always has)...not by weight standards, just that my uterus seems bigger than it should be (or was on week 26). Still finding relief with regular exercise (though swimming has lost its appeal with the colder weather) and acupuncture. Well that's my novella installment.

rpats - October 19

Yeah! So nice to hear from you PinkAmerican! Wow- you sure did get alot accomplished! I am closing out my 26th week, and I have NO nursery (because we currently live in a 1 bedroom) and am so iffy about the larger baby products that I keep finding myself exhanging gifts I get, or returning them all together so i can continue thinking about just which stroller I really want! haha I keep thinking I have alot of time- but I know I need to start buckling down and making a call on that stuff pretty soon. Will def let you know about the 3D and 4D - i am so excited for that. No, i dont have my pics scanned anywhere- shame on me I think my biggest issue right now with the outter world is all the unsolicited advice. Some people just dont know how to give it a rest! And i find my patience for that is wearing thinner and thinner... hehe At my 24w I had gained 6 pounds... but I literally gained 5 of that in just that 5th month! oops! so i am scared to see what i have gained in two weeks time when I go back for my 7 month.... I hear you - i have to work on my iron levels- but i just dont find the time in the day to eat and drink everything i am supposed to! i am about to dump a bunch of stuff in a blender and pinch my nose and down a shake of it everyday! haha there just arent enough hours in the day. Yes- the pee breaks are sooo frequent- and it feels like you have to go SO bad... and you get there to here a little drizzle ... haha THE END too funny. Do you still feel you have the high energy levels of your 2nd tri? I do... but I keep thinking that I dont want to go back to the tiredness of my 1st tri when i hit that 3rd tri! guess its inevitable though....

Jakes Mommy - October 21

Hello, i'm new here but i'll be 28 weeks on Monday. Thought I would ask if anyone else has had a pain around there bellyb___ton that's so bad that you can't move or it get's worse? And it lasted about 5 mins for me. Almost went to the ER but then he kicked right where it was hurting and the pain just stopped. I also think i've been having Braxton Hicks. This is my first so I have no idea what to really expect. I appreciate any advice given. Good luck to everyone. Were almost done! :D
