Yes, it does happen. I know it can freak you out, but depending on their position, sometimes we feel them and sometimes not so much. If you'll feel better, call your doctor. I asked my doc at my last visit and she a__sured me it was normal. I think it's about 28 weeks when they start having you do a "kick count" sheet b/c that is when it really becomes more consistant.

Yep, happened to me. In fact, I had felt it consistently for days, then nothing. Freaked me out! I went in for an ultrasound and they watched for movement. There was a LOT of movement I wasn't feeling. They also discovered that my placenta is attached to the front (stomach-side) of the uterus and when that happens, the placenta can "absorb" many of the kicks. At 18 weeks, they can easily flip around too, which means he/she could be kicking towards your back and you won't feel it. It's very common. I didn't start feeling consistent movement until about 23 weeks.

My baby actually has a habit of moving all over for 4-5 days in a row, then I barely feel him at all for 2-3 days. And since he has a lung problem, I get ultrasounds and doctor's visits quite regularly. They say it's normal and that he's VERY active. So, don't worry.
