Hi everyone, Ive just had some awful news that my little boys amniotic fluid is decreasing. Ive done a lot of research on what this could mean and found good and bad results. I just wondered if anyone has any experiences, advice or thoughts that could help me get through this. Heres the facts and figures - its measuring 9.4cm so its not critical, which is 5cm or below, but its decreasing from what it was and thats not normal. Im drinking like 2 gallons of water a day and resting a lot, on doctors orders. Im going for a 3d scan in a few days to see if theres a urinary defect with my boy or if its a ruptured sack, or if its me not supplying enough fluids. Babys still ok, heartbeat normal, moving around and dosnt appear to have anything wrong with him. Im just praying really hard that this dosnt get worse and that i can get the fluid levels to go up again. Someone here reccomended drinking coconut water aswell as normal water. Any thoughts girls??

I had the same issue but I as about 32 weeks and my fluid was much lower (around 5 and decreasing) I was drinking a ton of water and was still thirsty. I held out until 36 1/2 weeks then had her via c-section. My bp also went way up. Good luck, I'm sorry I'm not much help, but all you can do is rest and drink.

MissP, I'm 35 weeks pg., & I'm also always thirsty! On an average day I'm drinking at least 150 ozs of water, like you, I don't see how I can still be thirsty! I'm not sure if that's related to the amniotic fluid or not. I just had an u/s yesterday & my fluid levels were very good. I'd check w/ your doc...let me know what you find out, I'm definitely interested!
