I am 24 weeks and have been having terrible back and pelvic pain. I had back surgery about 8 years ago so i am not surprised that I am having pain. My ob said to try and wear a maternity supprt belt to help easse the pain. My question is can these support belts hurt the baby? I am wearing one but I am not REALLY big right now. All the pictures I see of woman wearing the belts are a lot bigger than I am. I have to say it really does work. My back pain and pelvic pain is much less. I am wearign the belt per the instructions, but just want to be sure no harm can come for this. Thanks!!!!!

As far as my dr and physio have both told me that they will not cause any harm to the baby at all. I would imagine that they may help as your posture will be able to be better instead of always wanting to be hunched over. And why not feel good and be able to move around during our pregnancies!! I too intend on wearing one if my lowback gets bad again too.

Those belts are great - they aren't harmful so long as you aren't putting them on too tight. I wore one my last pregnancy and I felt pretty great all the way up til the end

I bought the Mother-To-Be brand and it's great. I thoguth I would try and cheapier one from Motherhood maternity and it was terrible. I bought this one from a company called Orthobionics, but i am sure other online companies sell them. i think i paid around $50.00 or so, but it was well worht it. I will wear a t-shirt and then put the belt on and then antoerh shirt over it and you can't tell that I am even wearing it. It really helps keep you from being hunched over. Good luck and congrats ladies!!!!!
