Hi Girls, Congrats to all on the second tri, so exciting! I'm 14 weeks and still experiencing severe morning sickness and vomiting. Can anyone tell me when their symptoms subsided or if they haven't. EVeryone keeps telling me I should be better by now, but I'm not even close to being better. I so want to enjoy this, but I can barely get through the day at work. Thanks SOOOO much!

Jules have you talked to your dr about any medication that you can take for it? I am 17w and I ahve been taking Diclectyn since I was 9 weeks and it has been a total lifesaver. I can function through my days ok. I tried to stop taking it the other day and I was sooooo sick, so dr told me that I will need to stay on it. It is completly safe for pregnancy and makes it so much easier to get all the proper nutrients that you need, especially in the second tri when baby is taking from you . I would suggest looking into it or something like it. Best of luck!! :)

Welcome jule, congrats on your "promotion" I'm not sure how to help though. I had very intense nausea but it slowly subsided until by about 15-16 weeks I was only feeling sick a few days a week. Now I'm 19+ and it's completely past. What is your doctoring advising? I know that I took an additional B6 along with my prenatal vitamins, made sure to have something to eat every couple of hours and also had the Preggie pops & drops. I especially loved sour hard candies, and when we went to the movies I always got the Sour Patch kids candy. Totally random, I know, but hey whatever gets you thru!

THanks so much for your help. Softbreeze-i will ask my dr again about meds. He told me a few weeks ago that he wouldn't give it to me because he said that I was gaining weight well enough. But maybe he will now. I'll ask for Diclectyn. QueenBee-Thanks for the tips! I'll try the sour patch kids, I havne't tried them yet. :)

Too funny - sour patch kids candy works for me too! (and my 3 and 6 year old daughters LOVE that I buy them more often!!)

hey, mine didn't go away till 20 weeks..and at 26 I still get sick a little every once in a while if I don't eat enough protein. I had to take zofran and phenegran (sp?) for about 6 weeks because I was SOO sick I couldn't eat or drink. B6 didn't work for me...nor did unisom which they prescribe too. With my first child I started to feel better at 16 weeks and was great at 18.

I thought my severe morning sickness would never end, however it seems to finally be subsiding now. I am now 23 weeks. I would say the turning point was around 21 weeks. But, it is different for everyone. You just have to believe that one day you will wake up and want to eat (and not throw up). I lost 10 pounds off my pre preg weight of 130. All my muscle is now gone. It sucks. My doctor was hesitant to prescribe zofran to me. She finally did a couple of weeks ago. We paid 100 dollars for the prescription, but I simultaniously came down with the cold/flu, so I didn't want to take the zofran until I got over that. When i got over the flu I was feeling better all around and never did have to take it. Although, I am glad that I don't have to take it now, I wish my doc had prescribed it a lot earlier so I could have. My point is, if you are losing weight or cant keep hydrated or if the MS is really depressing you (all these things were true for me since week 5) ASK FOR THE DRUGS. I wish I had been more forceful. You dont have to suffer.
