Hi! As I am sure most of you have heard about the plastic baby bottle fiasco with the plastic containing BPH which is toxic to people. I am unsure as to the proceedure being taken in the States, but here in Canada - Zellers is taking back any Plastic baby bottles that contain this chemical with no questions asked. It doesn't matter how old they are, they will return them. If you are unsure if the ones that you have are eligible, just call and they will tell you. I jsut returned a whole bag of Advent Platsic bottles to them at lunch that I was given by my cousan now that she is done with them and they gave me full price credit for them no questions. No reciept, no packaging, no nothing. Just the bottles. Now I will purchase some new glass ones in place. Pretty good deal. Check into it in your area!

I'm in the States and nothing is moving on that yet. Do you know a way to find out which bottles contain BPH? I had started my son out when he was just home from the hospital (spent 2 mos in NICU) with gla__s bottles out of fear of everything and have slowly loosened up and allowed plastic bottles since we were always running out and I had a supply from my older son. Anyway, I think I'm going to go back to gla__s. Curious to find out though if there's away to check what companies use BPH. If you know please share the info! THANKS!

I am in the states too, and pretty much if the packaging doesn't say BPH free, then it contains the chemical. It just sucks that the FDA hasn't gotten with the program yet, and who knows if they ever will. I guess that as moms we have to weed through the toxic products ourselves and hope for the best. I would also stay away from baby products that are made in China. It seems that every time you watch the news there is another story about a toxic product out of China. It is just scary. I will definitely be using gla__s bottles when my son is born.

Same here. We definitely need to educate ourselves. Thanks for the post! Good luck with your pregnancy and soon to be baby boy! :)

I know for sure that the advent brand and the Playtex ventair bottles are the majors here on teh hit list. But the list that the lady at Zellers had, had everything from Gerber to Nuk to Playtex to Dr.Brown. As long as it is gla__s, you are probably ok, as well as the plastic bottles that use the drop in liners are alright so I have learned. It is frusterating to know that the States ahven't gotten on board with all of this yet as well. How long where these companies going to go on letting us use toxic products before they were found out??Grrr.

I was wondering about the drop in plastic liners, I never used bottles with my ds but my husband was never here to help feed him (military). So I was going to use those ones with this baby if I pumped.

Gla__s bottles? are they better than plastic?

Not sure about the plastic liners. I picked some up a while ago while our kitchen was under renovations but they didn't fit. To be honest, I never considered them with the BPH issue. I've read that gla__s bottles are a-okay. Anyone hear differently?
