Is anyone else totally stressed out at work, and just ready to take a fake tumble or something just to go out early? I sucks that I am 20 weeks, too early to go out... but I can't take my co-workers anymore.

Phoebe i feel the same as you.. and im also only 20 weeks... if i leave work now my maternity will run out by a couple weeks after the baby is born.. my co workers are awful.. this is my first pregnancy and of course like any first time mom im unsure of motherhood.. and they tell me how i will be a horrible mother almost everyday.. ive seen a lawyer and filed a complaint about hara__sment.. perhaps you could do the same. if they say anything to me my lawyer has said for me to say: "My lawyer has advised me not to discuss any matters that are not directly pertaining to my job. if you would like to discuss such matters with me my lawyer must be present" since they they have not really said much to me.

*gasp* Heather... you have plain evil co-workers... what type of work do you do? I work in an emergency room, and my co workers can be turds... but thank goodness for the union that they can't be hurtful...

My co-workers are always making some comment on how I look.

I always said that I was going to work up unti lthe day I popped because I wanted all the time I can get with the baby. I thought that taking any time off before you had the baby started yout maternity leave, but someone here at work told me that if the doctor puts you out before having the baby it does NOT count as part of your maternity leave because you have not yet had the baby, it is just a LOA (Leave of absence), so if thats the case I am willing to go anytime my doctor thinks I should or anytime I can convince him I need to be out!! :0)

I agree, this is absolutly hienous that we have to stick around under miserable circ_mstances! I am so tired all the time and I have the worst headaches and morning sickness that I feel like there is no point in me being here. If you dont mind me asking, how are you guys taking up the slack money wise? My maternity leave isnt paid and I am a little scared about my financial situation. also I wanted to take some time off but again with the finances!

Phoebe, I just told my boss. We will see what he does. I told him that I am not coming to work to be critized. I feel like I am in middle school. Robyn, I get 12 wks maternity leave, 6 wks paid and the other 6 wks not paid. So, I am trying to save up money for the 6 wks I am not paid.

I get 3 12 weeks maternity leave paid with only like 60% of my pay and then there is another law that went into affect I believe last Jan that is called a bonding act and that is another coupld of weeks with the same percent of pay. My finacve and I have said we are just going to be very tight with money during that time. Tought thing is is I have three step kids at home, and so there is always money being spent no matter what!

Yeah I make way way way more than my bf does so I am freakin out a little and he doesnt understand why. I am going to try for the temp disability thing and that will cover as long as you need with pay even though its only 60% of pay which is better than nothing. I will let you know how it goes. They are supposed to be getting back to me soon so we will see.

I am not stressed out at work, but I am totally ready to stay home, I can't wait to be a stay at home mom.

Robyn - April 18

I totally wish I could be a stay at home mom. I want to more than anything. Cant afford it though and thinking about it depreses me.

I have great co-workers, but I have to stand 9 hours a day, with no lunch break. I'm 20 weeks and I'm at the point where I can barely stand to go to work anymore. My husband is planning to work 2 jobs, and I will stay home and be a full time mom. We have a 3 year old, and we've worked opposites since she was born because we couldn't afford day care. I'm worried that my husband will be too stressed out or get too tired from working two jobs, but he says he's not up to taking care of two kids at once, so I feel like I have no choice.
