Reasons For Spotting At 24 Weeks

I am just about 24 weeks pregnant with my second. Today, when I went to the bathroom, I noticed brown blood in my underwear and a small amount when I wiped. I know brown blood means its old and is better than bright red blood, but does anyone know what could cause this? I called my doctors office and the nurse said just to relax. She later called back and said the doctor wanted to see me tomorrow so I will find out more then. I have also been getting some cramping that feels just like af is starting. I spotted my whole pregnancy with my first son and no one could really tell me why. Any thoughts? I'm getting a bit nervous as I still have brown tinged discharge after a few hours of relaxing.

Have you had s_x or an internal exam recently? If so, it could be your cervix was irritated. I'd go to labor and delivery because anytime you see any blood, especially with the cramping it should be checked. It could be some bleeding from a small tear from the placenta moving among other things but should be checked and monitored.

Everything is probably fine, but, I am glad that you will be seeing your OB tomorrow. Let us know what happens.

There can be so many reasons for spotting in pregnancy, and sometimes the doctors can't even figure out why. It does happen to quite alot of women that go on to have healthy pregnancies. Keep us updated as to what the doc says - Good luck.

Thank you for your replies. I had an internal exam and an ultrasound today that both came up normal. They said I might just be a spotter like my first pregnancy. I'm jut to take it easy and call if it gets worse or turns to bright red.
