Rock Hard Tummy

i'm currently at 17w5d, and i noticed 3 days ago, well actually my hubby noticed when he came to rub my belly that my belly was rock hard, and it's been like that ever since, and i mean rock solid, i knew this happened later in the pregnancy, but has this happened to anyone this early? I've asked my friends who had babies and they never experienced this, except much much later in late third trimester... i'm wondering if this is normal so early in my pregnancy?

If it gets rock hard and then relaxes it's just a braxton hicks contraction which is normal (unless you are having a lot and regularly), but I don't know about it being hard and staying that way?

If i'm laying down, my tummy is super hard as well Im 28 weeks now but its been like that ever since about 18-20 weeks. I thought it was normal so I didnt mention it to my doctor but I have had 3 or 4 doctors appointments since then and they h avent said anything. They touch your belly and push on it and stuff so im sure they would have said something to me. Im not worried, I dont think you have to be...

I had to come back and post because a friend of mine just took me to lunch and when we were talking she told me about when she was pregnant with her son her belly got really hard one day and instead of relaxing after a minute like regular braxton hicks it stayed that way. She ended up going in to early labor but the dr's were able to stop it. I was surprised she said this because I had just read your post before I left for lunch, so I had to come back and mention it. I still don' tknow whether you mean your belly is tightened up hard like a contraction and stayed that way or if you mean it is just getting harder like bellies do when we get further along and bigger. If it is just the belly getting firmer, no biggie, but if it contracts like hard and stays that way you need to call your doctor...
