Shih Tsu Jumped On My Stomach

I was laying down, almost asleep when my 12 pound shih tsu jumped on my stomach, only one foot actually landed on the far left side of my belly. I am so worried that something could have happened to my baby. So far it feels a little sore and I have not had cramping or any spotting. Has this happened to someone? Or does anyone know the odds of this hurting the baby?

Don't worry at all. The baby is so protected in there that the impact would have to be severe to cause a problem. However, if you are worried you can always call the nurse and see what she has to say. I am sure the baby is fine. Congratulations by the way. I am 30 weeks 1 day with our second. Do you have any other children?

Mjvdec01 is right.. the impact would have to be really hard to cause a problem... one foot from a 12lb shih tsu won't do anything. I worried too about EVERYTHING anytime something touched my stomach I would freak but after nurses poking and prodding my belly I realized that I didnt have to worry. I have been baby sitting my cousins daughter who is now 3 months old and she kicks my stomach all the time when I hold her.. I was concerned but my doc says not to worry and my baby is totally fine :) Im 36 weeks by the way. anyway congrats on the pregnancy :)

i am sure you are in the clear! I am 15 weeks and my 22 pound, nine month old son climbs all over my belly when i am laying down....jabbing me here, punching me there...plus when he is really tired he will crawl over to me and just launch himslef onto my stomach. I just always tell him that he is already beating up on his brother, and he needs to be gentle! lol. i am sure you are ok though! congrats on the babe!

cbol, glad to hear that everything is fine. It's a bit late, but the same thing happened to me with my daschund! He jumped on my belly and he is 10 pounds. My Dh and I were freaking out, but all was well and baby is fine! My husband made me promise to try and get the dogs off the bed prior to the baby coming. we are having such a hard time doing that because they have always slept on the bed, but I guess it's necessary. I'm just so bad at being stern with them, but I I have too! Ughhh..no fun. Good luck with baby!
