IS it a really big deal if you sleep on your back? I heard the sides are better but is there much of a difference?? I am 15 weeks 6 days.

I sleep on my back still, and I'm 15 weeks. I think you can, as long as it is comfortable... But, correct me if I'm worng :)

The books say not to sleep on your back starting at the fifth month. My doctor told me that it is better to sleep on my sides, but if I find myself on my back in the middle of the night and I'm comfortable, I shouldn't panic. From what I've read, the uterus is heavy and pushing on the main artery to the lower body and that's why 'they' don't recommend you sleep on your back.

I still sleep on my back sometimes and I am 16 weeks. I start out on my sides but when I wake up I am on my back.

They say if sleeping on your back gets to the point that it becomes dangerous, you will wake up. Try to sleep on your side, but don't freak out if you wake up on your back.
