Starting To Freak Out A Little

So I am 14w 2d pregnant with my first baby, which I am very excited about. We're going back to the dr in four days for a checkup but I'm starting to get anxious because I can't find my uterus. I've checked everywhere. The soft spot right above my pubic bone I can push all the way down without feeling anything, and the farther I feel up the more unsure I am what it is that I'm touching. My friend found hers at 11w. I'm starting to convince myself that something's terribly wrong and preparing my emotions for the dr to say something like the baby's been dead for weeks. We had a normal 10w scan, saw the heartbeat and everything. How common/uncommon is it to feel your fundus at 14 weeks?

You should feel it by now.. The best time to feel for the bump is in the morning when your bladder is really full. Try that I am almost sure you will feel it just a bit over your pubic bone. Hope everything is all right. I am 16 weeks now and sometimes I can't feel it much either. Don't worry; hopefully you are just not feeling for it in the right time :)

Hi! I think your uterus should be about 3 inches below your belly b___ton at about now. Like Tatik said, it is supposed to be alot easier to feel it in the am when you have a super full bladder. I think sometimes, we just really dont know what we are trying to feel!! I cant really feel mine for definete yet, but then again I am a bit bigger :), but my Dr always goes STRAIGHT to it no problem! Dont worry..Im sure your appt will go great!

You are fine,I am 27 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and I couldn't find my uterus for a while, sometimes I still have trouble. When I was about as far along as you,I couldn't find it,then the doctor was like "oh here is the top of your uterus"and she actually showed me,My fundus is about 3 inches above my belly b___ton now,but when I have an orgasm it bunches up until it's below my belly b___ton.That is pretty much the only time I can say I feel it for sure.Your doctor will show you where to feel for it if you ask her.One more thing, you are unique and so is your uterus and baby, and just because someone else feels something at a particular time doesn't mean you will either,so try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

Thanks ladies! I'm always such a bundle of nerves right before a dr appt. I'm sure it's not very good for my baby to be so stressed out but I can't help it! I took your advice and checked early this morning when I felt like I was going to pee the bed and found it! It was way bigger than I expected and rock hard, poking out even. It's about halfway between my pelvic bone and bellyb___ton. Suddenly it came to me that I have a tipped uterus and that may be why I can't always feel it? What a relief. I was so happy that I bought my baby a present today and started reading my baby names book. :) Dr on Monday, wish me luck!
