Hi all, Ok I hope i am being neurotic again - but i just read somewhere that eating nuts through preganancy can cause your baby to be allergic to them???? I had no idea and have been eating almonds, pistashios, macadamias and occasionally peanuts - mainly peanut butter - I had no idea this was bad? Any of you ladies eating nuts??? Now of course I am like OH NO - I hope i havent done any damage?? xx :)

Hi Bellybubble! I have to say I never heard that but with my daughter I ate nuts the entire time and no allergies here!!! Try not to worry- I am sure you didn not do any damage!!!

I heard that too.. I also heard some c___p about drinking milk and other things that people are commonly allergic to.. I personally think thats all a load of bull... I'm not a doctor nor do I know what causes someone to be allergic to something but I think that if the child was going to be allergic to something it will be regardless of what you ate. besides milk and nuts are super good for you, I say eat up and enjoy. :)

i am with Heather - it's all a load of bull! LOL - I think everyone tries to freak out us women when we are pregnant - I am sure nothing is fine and I have read that at least 2 gla__ses of milk is recommended while pregnant so I am sure all is well.

It's in the 3rd trimester that you should stay away from peanuts if you have a history of allergies in your family.

Hello! I have been advised by my doctor that all other nuts are ok - its just peanuts that you should avoid. It is beleived that if a baby is exposed to peanuts (including peanut b___ter) whilst in the womb or b___stfeeding then it is possible that they may get a peanut allergy. Its just advised to stay away from them really. It wont definitely happen but it is one of the worst allergies because of the peanut content in our everyday food. It would horrible for someone to have a peanit allergy - and if you could prevent it by not eating them for a while then it is good idea not to i guess.

i think it is personally a load of bull aswell. i know a woman who stuck to having no peanuts throughout her pregnancy and she gave birth to a baby who developed a nut allergy. with her second she had nuts sparingly and he had no allergies whatsoever. i just cut down on it if i were you, i love peanutb___ter so just have it once a week on a sandwich and a few nuts as and when i feel like it. i really don't think it will do any harm.
