I am 12w 5d today and went in for a special check up, the doctor while did the scan and tried to see if he could tell the fetus’s gender. My husband & I wanted to know anyway, so the doctor explained that it it’s a he, the tissue is pointing up; If it’s a she, the tissue is pointing flat down & to the right (away from the body). It was supposed to be around 64% accurate, but we are not going shopping just yet. Just want to share with you.

That was what we were told as well at our nuchal scan. That is what they call the gender nub prediction. There are articles on-line about it as well. Our sono tech was correct. Then, we were told at our 20 week scan that it was indeed a boy. I would wait too to start buying things though. Good luck to you...

From what I heard & read so far, this method is accurate enough... Since this will be our 1st, we are blessed for a healthy baby, whichever gender... congrats to all.

Yeah, early on predicting gender is still a bit iffy, but nowadays the u/s machines are so much better and more advanced that the techs can get a clearer picture earlier. We didn't start buying anything pink though until after the 20 week one just to be sure :)
