Weird Stabbing Pain Under Ribs At 17 Weeks

So Ive been havin a sharp stabbing pain on my left side right under my ribs for almost 2 weeks. It comes and goes and isnt continuous, just sporatic. (but everyday) It happens mostly when i move, especially at night if I change positions. Sometimes even just sitting still. It hurts alot and isnt anywhere near my uterus. Its in the same spot/general area everytime too. Ive asked my doctor and she says there isnt anything there that should be pulling bc round ligament would be much lower and the baby isnt up that far yet. So not to worry it just might be the ligament pain moving up a nerve or something. Anyone else have this?

I have had that like llukenjess says...my doc told me it is calcium deposits on the ribs...weird I know...but it almost takes my breath away when it is happening. I also did have really bad rib pain on my right side when I was PG with my son but that was constant and only when I got bigger!

Hi elizhope - I get the exact same thing like you explained - same side and everything - and mainly at night! Hurts more sometimes when I take a deep breath in - comes and goes - my doc didnt think it was anythign to worry about either - but its still a pain in the b___t (or should I say ribs haha).

so i shouldnt be worried? it doesnt hurt when i take a deep breath, and usually feels kinda like badly bruised ribs, but then there will be a sharp shooting pain directly in my side. and it happens most everytime i get out of bed, move positions, and sometimes ill just be sitting still in my office chair. it really hurts.
