Abnormal Pap Results

So its been a while since i last logged on, but i promised i would post this. When i first had my pap done at the begin of my pregnancy, they said it was "abnormal". So they gave me a colposcopy. It wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. it only hurt a little. You can only have one done at 14 or 15 weeks, when you're pregnant. It came back severe cell dysplasia, which means the step before cancer. It was caused by HPV virus from who i think i got from my husband of 7 years. I didn't have a bad pap until becoming preg with #3. But no one can truly say who gave it to who. Niether 1 of us was unfaithful. Anyways...Dr says that they can remove the bad cells/tissue, but since mine is so bad and i was not really wanting this 3rd baby. I was supposedly sterile btw. He s going to give me a hysterectomy when the baby is 8 weeks. I'm only 28 but it will take away the chance of it coming back. He is leaving my ovaries, so i won't go through menapause. Yea for no more periods. i haven't discussed with dr. if any other parts can become re-infected with my husband carrying the hpv. Do any of you know? And to those of you who have daughters i would seriously consider the vaccination that they have out now. Gardasil, i think is the name. i wish it had been around when i was young enough for the shots. Now i am 17 weeks along and finally starting to get excited about this accident. Will find out the s_x next week. Yeah! The baby will not be harmed by having hpv unless you have the kind that causes warts, which i don't. they say the warts can get inside the baby's throat. I was never a "ho" so i guess anyone can get this. It was really disheartening to hear that i have hysterectomy done at such a young age but i have to look to brighter days. I welcome any questions you may have, if you'd like to know more about this evil HPV

Good luck - with your new baby and your health- I am sure things will work out fine. Those kinds of diseases or viruses can be stagnant for a while, so it's probably been there and they just hadn't caught it. I wish you the best.

Pretty much almost anyone who has had s_x has or had hpv, so you certainly don't need to be a "ho" to get it. The vaccine, from what I have read is pretty dangerous and does not really make you "immune" to hpv. Also HPV only causes a small percentage of cervical cancers relative to the whole- luckily they found yours before it became cancer. They say the best way to avoid cervical cancer is to have regular paps every year which will detect all precancerous cells. Good luck with your baby and your surgery.
