Got the fetal heart monitor yesterday. Got home and tried it & found a faint heart beat and then nothing. I think the little booger moved on me. Then later that night my b/f got antsy and got it back out and started moving it all around. Then finally he stumbled upon it. It was beating really strong. His face lit up when he found it. That's what I got it for...him to be happy and be as involved as much as he can with the pregnancy and to put his mind at ease.

brandie922 - where did you get your heart monitor? we found one at babys r' us, but it says you can't detect anything until the 3rd trimester. That is super exciting!

I ordered it online. I got it from facelake.com. I got the angelsounds one! They say you can hear as early as 12 weeks. I guess I should have gotten one that gave you the actual heart rate but that wasn't really my point in buying it and I am trying to save some money. It wasn't the easiest to find but when it was found it was clear as it could be.

Thanks! I'm gonna have to get one! We were unable to hear the heart beat last time we went to the dr....we weren't quite 12 weeks yet. This next time though, we will be 15 1/2 weeks, so we should hear it then!!!

Hey ladies! I'm technically not second tri yet... but I'm just barely a March mom to be. (3/31) So, I thought I'd b___t in. :) My name is Megan, I'm 28 and this is the first baby for me and my dh. Right now I'm secretly hoping for a boy but I can' t think of any boy names... so I think it's a sign it'll be a girl. Which is totally fine, too. I'm only 12w but I definitely have a little pooch going. I wish everyone luck in their pregnancies.

Welcome to the group and congrats! I know how you feel about having a boy name and no girl name. I think mine is a boy not only because of the name thing but just a feeling I've had since almost day one. My b/f asked me what I would do if it were a girl and I told him he could name her! He asked if it was a girl could the middle name be Isabel. Now what in the world would you put as a first name! He'll have it tough if it is a girl because I can't help him with that! I guess we'll know for sure when we go Oct. 6th. Hopefully the baby will be cooperative and let us see!

I am about 13 1/2 weeks along, and I have been having stretching/growing pains in my belly. It is pretty exciting, I'm hoping I pop soon, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this lately?!

I had some stretching type of pains for like a week (end of 14w and beginning of 15w). I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow and the pain has subsided. Most of my stretching pain was in my hips, but I did get the occasional pains in my belly area. I notice that I get a little bit of pain after I empty my bladder...just a momentary pain, but I wonder if that's due to stretching or rearrangement of things inside? Weird.

HI I hope I can join you, I am due with our 3/4 th kids, twin boys-YIKES-3/3/09, 16 w2d today. We did an IVF cycle, thankfully it worked. My history is m/c 1999, DS 2001, DD 2003, 4 yrs ttc with m/c 2006, 2007, 14 clomid/IUI, 3 injectables, and the IVF that worked. I got a fetal heart rate monitor $115 online, called hi-bebe 2000. Very goot, calculats the rate for you too. We were hoping desparate for b/g twins, I am admittedly sad that it was twin boys, daughter was crying all night when she found out her baby A was a boys, she's theonly girl in the whole vamiliy, even all boy cousins, and onlyl 1 girl in neighborhood to play with to boot. I am feeling so blessed after all I went thgouh that both babies are doing ok, either way. I have been on bed rest at wk4-5 (for the IVF), 10-11 for threatened m/c, and now for past 2 wks for bleeding and a sub chorionic hemorrhage, So far babies are hanging on, I am a sore stiff emotional wreck! I am terrified about one having downs, esp since I am almost 36, we didn't do any pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, ins was maxed out and din't have extra 3K to pay for that, esp since I didn't even think that the IVF would work, and afraid it'd end in m/c too...thankfully not. Anyway, I hope you don't mind me posting here, the twins forum is completely a waste!

comommy I hope everything is ok with you now. I'll be praying these little ones get here safely for you. Katie I think I'm afraid to bond with this baby too much as a fear it might happen again. I think that's secretly the main reason I don't want to know what it is. I woke up today and they other day and felt a lot of pressure so i felt my belly and I could feel the baby poking out. It was weird this early but nice. I bought the same fhr moniter as comommy for 115. It came with some gel and everything and I searched for the baby and found it a little before 9 weeks. But just for a second then it was gone. It works great though. I told my dr I bought one and he was like oh gosh and laughed like great we'll be seeing you a lot. Apparently their worst fear is a mommy with previous losses armed with a doppler lol.

Comommy, congrats on twins. Haha, I sort of wanted twins, but I'm happy with my single. My mom is a fraternal twin so it runs in my family. Maybe next time. Jenny, I've decided not to get a FHR monitor as I think it would make me paranoid. As it is I'm like...it's 16 weeks. I want to feel movement all the time. Some days I will feel more, and then the next day I will hardly feel anything. Kind of a hard thing for us mommies who have endured a loss. I just train my mind to "not go there." God already knows how much we want this child, and I just keep trusting in Him. However, I don't remember feeling really noticeable movement (like I knew it was baby) with Brooke until I was late 17 weeks/early 18 weeks....and that was my first pregnancy so that was pretty early for a first timer. Most people say with a first pregnancy you don't feel it until almost 20 weeks.

I also decided with my last pregnancy to not get a doppler. I was paranoid enough and that would've made it 10 times worse. I've also come to the conclusion that we really don't have any control over what's going to happen. It's all in the Lord's hands. Comommy, congrats on your twins. I hope all is well.
