I also decided with my last pregnancy to not get a doppler. I was paranoid enough and that would've made it 10 times worse. I've also come to the conclusion that we really don't have any control over what's going to happen. It's all in the Lord's hands. Comommy, congrats on your twins. I hope all is well.

I bought a doppler. My theory on it is this, I don't "feel" pregnant. I don't have morning sickness and the ony sign I've had is sore b___sts. So until my uterus starting growing a little bit it was a way to rest my mind. Last week I was rear ended. There wasn't a big impact or anything but I started to worry. My next OB appt was another week away. So that night I had to use it just to set my mind at ease. Now when I can feel the baby moving it won't be as bad.

It eases my mind a lot to have one. I'd be completely paranoid with out it lol. Not that I suppose they could do anything this early on if something we're going wrong but at least I can have more confidence all is well. And I'm thinking I won't be able to wait to know who's in there but we'll see. 3 more weeks! I go on the 10th for the u/s.

STERLINBERLIN-I know what it's like to be paranoid about a loss, my prior 3 m/c still haunt me sometimes, but I can't imagine loosing one at the very end. To ease your fears, it is VERY common for all babies to have the cord wrapped around their neck. at least 1 time, 1 and 2 times are very common! I know that you will always wonder what if, but you just have to urn it all to God that there was some sort of reason. And to all of you w/dopplers, it can be freaky if you don't find the hb, but if you hear any woosh sound or taps, just take heart knowing that it's your baby moving around, so the hb obviously has to be there somewhere!

Well, another 2 wks of bedrest at least, but thankfully they are letting me go up and around to just take the kids (7 & 5) to school and then back to the couch. There is a b___t dip on my couch now LOL! I never thought it would be like this, to be on be drest constantly from wk 14, there are so many things I have to do before these 2 arrive. I always planned on being on bedrest after 30 wks for pre-term labor since it's twins. AND, I can't go out in my cute maternity clothers and show off my belly, I am really poping out, the top of my uterus measures like I'm 6 mos already but that because there's 2 I guess. Somedays I'm ok w/twin boys, other days I think what the world have I done, there is a remote possiblity that I could've found out the s_x prior to puting the embies back, I was just so worried it wouldn't work at all, 0 babies, and it would've been an extra 3k minimun I think to do that? I still pray secretly the the u/s w/ one was wrong, but it's all God's plan I'm sure. I just really want 2 healthy babes in the end, no autism spectrum like my son, no trisomies since I'm almost 36. I'm sure some of my dissappoinment is b/c I always wanter a sis, my sis died at 2 days old, she was too premature (eventhough I was more preemie than her!) ?? Part of me is also so afraid w/all the probs so far with this preg, that something will happen and I'll end up w/ zero babies? HELP!

Hi Ladies, hope everyone is well. Comommy, that is no fun being on bed rest. That has to be hard, especially with two kids around the house. But if it gets the twins to you safe and sound, then it is worth it. I am 15.5 weeks and have yet to feel any movement...I am starting to wig out!!! I am so paranoid, I just want to feel something. I just had a scan at 14 weeks and all looked well, doc told me 18-20 weeks I should feel something. But I am sure I felt it around 15 weeks withmy DS, but I was really skinny then. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

I had my first an only scan at 7 weeks....I am now 14+ weeks and I have to wait till 20 weeks for my next one, which will be the gender sonogram. I am nervous, this is my first, and I'm sure everything is fine, but not getting to hear anything yet, or really see much, it just makes me nervous. We did get to SEE the heartbeat at the 7 week scan, but other than that, we are just hoping everything else is going well. It's kinda hard to describe because I feel way prego...I can feel my uterus (I am really in touch with my body) and I know it's poking out. We go for our next appt on the 30th, and my dr a__sured me we would HEAR the heartbeat then. Just crossing our fingers!!

Courtney call and ask for a earlier scan, they will do it for you. I don't blame you being kinda worried, sometimes ye just need the rea__surance.

I would like to, but then we would have to pay out of pocket for it, which is a little pricey...I know that seems lame, but we are trying to save for when our bundle arrives. I know that once we hear the heartbeat, I will be at ease, it's just being 'in limbo' that makes my nerves uneasy.

Courtney, as long as you feel like you're growing, most likely baby is growing right along with you. I didn't feel my first baby move until I was about 18 weeks....I'm almost 17 weeks now and I've been feeling this little one move a little every day for about the last week. I am not stick thin, but I am thin and because I know what movement feels like, I can distinguish it from gas bubbles. They feel very similar in my opinion. I have my next appointment next Wednesday (the 1st) and I'm interested to see what the HR is. Oh, and keep in mind most docs only do 2-3 u/s if you are having a normal pregnancy. I'm a high risk pregnancy and I've ony had 2 u/s so far (one at 9w w/my OB, and one at almost 11w w/my perinatologist). I will have a lot more done in my 3rd tri...

I figure everything is fine. Just with this being my first and not thin, I'm a little nervous. I can't wait till the 30th so we can hear the little booger...part of me is scared though that they won't be able to find it. A little part, but it's there. They tried to find it at 11 1/2 weeks and couldn't, they said there was less than 50% chance then, but you always wonder. I'll let you guys know how it goes, fingers crossed and prayers said!

Hey Courtney, I totally understand about paying out of paocket. It can be very expensive. Like Katie said, if you notice your body growing and changing, then all is fine. Everything will be just fine, try not to worry.

Welcome Coltonsmommy. Nuchal cord wraps are pretty common...25% of all pregnancies. I think my first pregnancy ended the way it did because not only was it 3 times around her neck and she was breech, but my peri suspects my amniotic fluid was low which made her more prone to compressing the cord. Do you think you're having a boy or a girl this time? I'm thinking I'm having a boy because I'm carrying way differently than last time, but I could be wrong. I've started to feel movement, some days more than others, and it is so exciting. I can't wait to see this little one on u/s again and know what to call it...hehe.

Denise: Im a Febuary mommy but i enjoy reading through other threads as well. I was reading this one and hope you dont take ofense if i ask you a question. Im just curious why you would take the risk of an amino with 5 previous miscarriages? My aunt had 3 sucessful pregnancies, then with her most recent she had an amino and it caused a miscarrige.
