What is everyone's opinions on Non-Alcoholic beer, which has a percentage of 0.5. It doesnt say no pregnant chicks on it, which every other real alcohol does.

I would say no. I know it's hard to go 9 months with no alcohol but just think of your healthy baby when it finally comes. If it was me...I would wait .

Stay away from it. Eat a twinky and get over it.

Enjoy!!! .5 percent is impossible to even get the tiniest tipsy as your body metabalises that small amount alcohol so quickly.

a__suming a regular beer at 5%
5 Divided by .3 = 16.66 round down to 16
normal person two beers in one hour = .08 BAL = Drunk
32 NA beers in one hour = drunk
Or a little more than a bottle of NA every two minutes for one hour.
Or 3 gallons of NA in one hour.
Or A LOT! So for those who say NO, I wonder if they worry about the water they drink and the air they breathe!!!

Ha ha iona! Good one, I agree!

Seriously if you worry about .5% alcohol, you should CERTAINLY worry about any nonorganic produce and meat!

Id say go for it... I would but beer is gross LOL, anyways do those who say no realize that there is more than .5% in mouthwash, meds, and toothpaste....they'd better start NOT brushing!

The problem is, you never know when is enough for some people. If a non-alcoholic beer is thought to be alright to someone who just likes the taste. How long before they decide that one actual beer wouldn't be all that bad. The duration of a pregnancy isn't all that long in the long run. Find something else to scratch that itch. Is it really that much of a draw, to have a drecky tasting fake beer? Like I said before, "eat a twinky and get over it".

Mjvdec, your "theory" goes with anything. Yes one twinkie is okay, but what about feeding your face with 20 a day!!! Do you really think because I eat one, suddenly I will have to eat 10 or more. Same goes with beer or hamburgers or anything. If I can control myself and limit my self to a healthy intake then all is good. Alas, enjoy all the .5% alcoholic beer you want. Heck enjoy a gla__s of regular wine occasionally. Moderation is the key, I am sure we can all agree..

Let's just not forget how dehydrating non-alcoholic beer is. Same as a regular beer, it can seriously dehydrate both you and your baby. If I can give up cigarettes, coffee, beer, wine and soda for 9 months, I am sure anyone else can give up their vice(s), too. It's not about us right now- it is about our baby and the health of our baby. Why take any kind of chance?

This is just one of those topics. People always come off as super judgy. I think you should be fine with a NA beer. If you do drink a regular beer or gla__s of wine I would just make sure it's not in the first trimester.
Anyway, I had a 3 oz. gla__s of wine on my anniversary. I don't feel the slightest bit guilty.

... fine! subst_tiute "twinky" with, "go for a walk"! and no, when you are pregnant, moderation isn't "key" when it comes to alcohol. There is no definitive evidence as to the volume of alcohol that can be harmful to an unborn baby. Another thing, since when is alcohol healthy?? Yes, there can be some benefits to red wine in moderation... WHEN YOU AREN'T PREGNANT! Also, if a person needs 20 twinkies to curb an alcohol craving, there are issues to be resolved before pregnancy. Like kmoselle said, "... it's about the health of your baby". Don't even take the chance. More often than not, women who argue their right to "enjoy" alcohol during pregnancy are trying to justify that action to themselves, not so much to others. I also wonder if you read my first sentence in my last post?!

Mjv, chill my friend. Stress and/or getting wound up is also not good for the baby!

From a leaflet I got with my Mom to be pack:
All alcohol a pregnant woman drinks can effect the baby she is carrying. The alcohol pa__ses directly through the placenta from conception right through till birth. One or two units twice a week is highly unlikely to have any impact on the baby so you can still enjoy the occasional gla__s of wine. However, any more than this and in particular excessive drinking can seriously affect the baby’s development. Substantial alcohol consumption during pregnancy can cause a variety of problems for the baby including physical and mental deficiencies (ADHD). It is also a common cause of women having miscarriages. It simply isn't worth the risk.
The first trimester is the most important time to reduce your alcohol intake or avoid it entirely.
So I personally think that drinking Non alcoholic is totally safe, that is my opinion but everyone has their own opinion.

I have a small sip everyonce in a while. A small amount isn't going to hurt, just as long as you don't do it all the time

I have an honest question and I mean no offense to anyone....if you guys think it is okay to have 'non-alcoholic' beer, do you think it is okay to smoke ultra light cigarettes? I personally put those two in the same boat, but again, that is my sole opinion. I just think that a ultra lights have little tar and nicotine, much like 'non-alcoholic' beer has a little alcohol...what's the difference? Again, I mean no offense, just curious to see how you guys differentiate the two.
