I am like the rest of you I am 15 weeks pregnant and at 10 weeks i had my first spotting. Even though i felt it was the end of the world I woke the next day to feel alive and still pregnant. I found out that i have a low laying placenta that the doctors feel will correct itself and I had a hematoma(sp) which is a bruise inside the placenta. I was sent home to take it easy and no pelvic activity (s_x). A week later i was back in the ER with pains on my left side. Another ultra sound found that the Hematoma was no longer present and they have no clue what is wrong with me at this point. Baby is still Okay. Yesterday at 5AM I woke up and found I was spotting bright red and I had 1 blackish clot. back in the ER for my shortest visit ever and I heard again they dont know whatis wrong with me but the baby is Okay. Wait and see is the famous saying I have found amongst doctors. Later that day i had a v____al ultrasound and we found the cervix was closed which is a good sign but there was a little fliud in the cervix. I have no clue what that means- probably more water discharge expected? The placenta is a concern the doctor discovered and she scheduled another ultrasound for the 19th. They do they 3D ultrasound in cases like this, I guess they can see everything more clearly and it is magnified alot?. Until the 19th I am on pelvic rest and off of work. Has anyone had placenta preva before and how did your pregancy turn out? take care of you and your babies. by the way on the ultrasound my baby was swimming like an olympic swimmer :-)

Hi to the rest of you in the spotting club. I am 4 weeks pregnant with our fifth baby and, once again, I am spotting. It's the same thing as the rest of you...started off light red and watery when I wiped then turned brown with a few small, stringy clots. It is heavier in the morning (but still only shows up when I wipe). I have done this with the last three pregnancies - four if you include this one. It is still worrisome, even though all four of my other boys were full term, 9 pound babies. Most of us will be fine and I'm glad this site is out there for rea__surance. I see that some of you are due next month - how's everything going? Hang in there, everyone! tiph

It may be a womans period. It's common for a woman to have her period.

hi again, i will be 16 wks tomorrow and had an ultrasound on weds. I am in Canada now but from U.S. and they do ultrasounds a little differently here so my doctor was not there just the one from the clinic, anyway they say there is some blood under the placenta but he did not sound to concerned I have an appointment with my doc on Mon. and we talked to him Thur. and he did not seem too concerned about bleeding, I plan to ask him the cause and if the bleeding is ongoing or just old blood I am experiencing. Anyway, I will keep you posted, oh and they said the baby looks perfectly well and was moving around like crazy for the ultrasound technician. God bless you all.

Candace, I believe there is always rrom for concern. I am concerned about my own situation but I have discovered that the doctore seem to have the belief that what ever is going to happen will happen and worring will make it worse. Have you been overly active? I ask because that is when my problems started , my Mother and I went shopping all way on December 23rd and that evening I spotted for the first time out of 3 pregnancies. I would make sure you tell your doctor and then take it easy, very easy let the people around you help out with home chorses and maybe take a day or two off of work. Take care of yourself Jenny

I saw my doctor today and they say the bleeding was coming from under the placenta but it is just old blood that I have been experiencing, he does not seem concerned about it since the growth of the baby and everything else is normal. And after 3 weeks the spotting is becoming less and less and I am starting to show. Good luck to all and God bless.

I was up early as I hardly can sleep these days because of the growing tummy. Saw your msg Kristy. Good to know that your sono went fine. I am sure you are feeling much relieved now. Just keep low and take it easy. I go to my doc in 3 days. I can' t wait to hear the heart-beats once again! Also to Amber, it probably is some old blood like most of us experienced at some point in our pregnancy. But you should make sure to let the doctor know asap. Good luck!

Kimberly, did you have any bleeding before you went for the sono? Could the doc see the baby? I was told there was no heart-beat for one my babies (I have twins) around my 11th week. I was told I had a Vanishing Twin Syndrome. For two weeks I was told there was no heart-beat. And during my next visit say after 3 weeks I was told the baby not only was there but was also growing well. The doc just couldn't see it!!! I hope this helps. I would not take the sono too seriously. Just take it easy and go for the next sono. Even if the doc suggests D&C make sure you get second opinion. Sonos aren't always 100% correct and there is always place for some human error. Good Luck!

I have been having the same kind of problems. I am so scared. I have had 2 kids before and never had any bleeding. Mine started last Saturday morning. The docotr told me to go in for u/s on Monday and I did. baaby was fine. I didnt see much movement but it they only did the u/s for 5 min. very quick. The heart beat was 146. Bleeding stopped Monday night turned to light brown all day tuesday and then stopped all together. But Yesterday there it was again. I went to flush the toilet and there it was a huge clot of some sort. I called the docotr and they told me to bring it in and go to ER right away. SO of course I did and when I got there they said they would do exam to see if cervix was open or closed. When they did the exam I was gushing alot of blood. I was so scared!!! Then the doc ran outta the room. The nurse had to go chase him down to see the results. Anyways it was closed which is good. But still bleeding. The fetal tones were ok 136. So they didnt do u/s and told me to follow up this Monday with my doc. I can't believe I am not the only one going through this. I am so happy I found this site. Anyone email me if you want to talk newhome1@localnet.com God bless us all Ashley

I am experiencing the same thing. At the end of my 13th week, I had some bleeding which led to an ultrasound in which all was found to be fine and that I am carrying twins. I am now in my 16th week and have been experiencing a brown discharge every few days. No medical explanation. The ultrasound showed that the twins had strong heartbeats and my cervix and placenta are both fine. Good luck.

Does anyone have this discharge or bleeding after s_x or fooling around? i thought pelvic rest ment no s_x but I did someresearch on the internet and it looks like pelvic rest simply means no (excuse the bluntness) orgasims. Has anyones doctor explained pelvic rest to them?

Kimberly, sometimes it is hard to detect the baby's heartbeat before eight weeks. The doctor couldn't find our fourth son's hb until the second ultrasound at 10 weeks. Jenny, pelvic rest differs from complete pelvic rest if you can believe that! With orgasm, your uterus contracts which can cause bleeding depending on where it is coming from. Let your doctor know and (of course) stop if it's making you concerned. Millie, did your doctor say anything about an increased chance of spotting with twins? I've seen quite a few people on here having twins and to tell the truth, I'm a little concerned about my increased chance of having them. I've been reading everywhere that once you have had four babies and you'll be 35 when you deliver that your chances are b/t 1and 20 and 1 and 28 of having twins! Did you have any feelings before you found out? How far along were you when you found out? We have our u/s on Thursday. tiphanie
