Hi Ladies, and some gentlemen as well! Great, hopefully inspiring news! Today I had my 18week ultrasound. I have a healthy baby girl with no more placental bleeding!!! I was really feeling so hopeless just a month ago, but all seems well now. Take heart, it can all turn out fine, even when the bleeding is so much you think that it's over. Take it easy, and keep growing those sweet babies. I'll be praying for you!

I am so happy to read that I am not alone. I woke up in a pool of blood yesterday, went to the ER. So much blood and clots, doctor does not know where the blood comes from but the cervix is closed and there is no pain, which is apparently the warning sign (ie experiencing pain). I am now 15 weeks and been told to take it easy...not easy with a 3yrs old girl, husby and house to look after. I just wish they could explain the bleeding ...or tell you how long before you can relax and feel safe again. Good luck to you all.

Dawnna, how far along areyou? I would be b__wing up the doctors phone if my bleeding was continuous. Are you to active? Has your doctor considered placenta perevia? seems to be quiet common. I would also lay off of all activity, complete pelvic rest. no s_x no fooling around, dont get excited at all. Dont lift and I found that a few days on bed rest really changed things for me, I felt like I healed then when I would be to active again I would have to bed rest again. Be gental with youself and take care. Jenny

unfortunatley with pregnancy i dont think you can ever completely relax and feel safe. This is my 4th pregnancy and ive been bleeding on and off since week 9, i am now 15 weeks....but as soon as you get past the miscarriage stage there is always the scare of preterm labor. My water broke with my last one at 25 weeks...i was on complete bed rest and had her at 32...thank god she only needed nicu for 5 days...but it was 5 days of hell....i promise there is nothing more upsetting then leaving the hospital and not taking a baby. plus the hospital i was at only let me see her every 3 hours for like a half an hour!!!! so even after i get past the miscarriage state im still afraid im going to have an early delivery....my doctors are expecting it even...(doesnt give much hope, when even your dr says youll prolly have it early)...so now all i do is pray that its not real early! the longer i stay pregnant the better!! good luck to all

Hi all
This website has been such an encouragement. I am now 16 wks and have had a few episodes of bleeding and spotting. U/S wld show that baby is ok (thank God) and placenta in good position, & Dr can't tell why. Hearing stories of people who have gone thru this and delivered heatlthy babies has given me much hope. I'm praying hard each day. Can only leave it in the hands of God. God bless you all and your babies.

Rachael, I know exactly what you are going through. I am 18 weeks pregnant and I bleed for 3 1/2 weeks. The doctor said that the baby was fine but it was still really scary. I was diagnosed with Placenta Previa at 12 weeks and was told that it could cause bleeding and other problems later in pregnancy. My other 2 pregnancies were so easy so I was really nervous when something was differnt. The good news is tht I have had no bleeding in just over a week now and I went to the specialist last week for an ulttrasound. The doctor said he had never seen a placenta move that much in that short amont of time. He said I have a very healthy baby girl and they are expecting the rest of my pregnancy to be normal. Keep Praying God will answer your prayers and hopefully you too will have a very healthly lilttle baby and no more worries. I wish you all the best.
To everone else, Thank you for shareing your stores they all gave me so much hope. I wish each of you nothing but the very best in your preganacies. God Bless!!!

Just wanted to share my story. At 6 weeks I had heavy bleeding cramping and clotting. I went to the ER and they diagnosed threatened miscarriage. My cervix was open but my HCG levels were rising. I saw my reproductive endo the next day and I was placed on a progesterone suppository until 12 weeks and was released to my regular OB. At 13 weeks exactly 8 days after I stopped the progesterone I once again began bleeding heavily and went to the ER. At this time my oss was closed and the ultrasound showed that the baby was doing fine. I saw my doctor the next day and I must say that he was not much of a comfort. He didn't give me any straight answers and I was somewhat insulted. Essentially he told me that I could start back on the progesterone if it would ease my mind but he could not tell me the risks to my child if I did so. I had my heart set on delivery at a particular hospital but I am having a hard time finding a doctor accepting new patients. A co-worker referred me to her doctor and although I am not familiar with his hospital I will give him a try because I need answers and I need a doctor who cares about the health of my baby.

unfortunately it seems there sometimes just isnt an answer...ive been bleeding off and on since 9 weeks. im now 15 weeks and 4 days...and no one knows why....they cant find anything wrong...ive been told several times that sometimes it just happens....that lots of women continue to bleed through out pregnancy and everything comes out just fine....as long as your cervix is remaining closed and the baby is fine....they dont seem to worry too much....i am going for a stage 2 ultrasound on april 1 to see if they can pin point the problem, also because i have a history of preterm labor so they want to keep an eye on the length of my cervix....but that couldnt be done until 2 trimester...so ive just had to sit and wait!!!! its frustrating...but sometimes there just are no answers!!!! all you can do is keep faith that your little one will be ok!!!

Stephanie, I was reading back through the old postings and I was reminded that you where going to see a high risk doctor? How did that go?

Hi Jenny- thanks for asking.
I've been meaning to write since my appointment with the high risk ob.
I am currently at 21 weeks. I went on March 4th and the dr. was very nice and went over the whole level 2 US with me and my husband. Basically he said that there are no signs of the original bleeds (which were about the size of the baby) and that I had some debris floating in my uterus which was probably the dried blood. He also said that my placenta is posterior but not next to the cervix such as it had been diagnosised earlier. I have a follow-up with the doctor on March 23rd and hopfully nothing will have changed. I also have not bleed at all for the last 7 days! I saw my regular OB today and she made the comment that my pregnancy is starting to look like a normal pregnancy and I was so happy to hear her say that. Last year when I was pregnant with my first child (born April 16th) I didin't realize how luckly I was that I only had bleeding for a week around 11 weeks. I think the longer the bleeding lasts the more pessimistic you become. I feel very lucky and thankful that my bleeding has gone away. Though I can't help but get alittle anxious everytime I have to go to the bathroom...
I am also going to start going back to work more. I am allowed to work from home as much as needed (I'm a psychologist and my work environment is flexible). My doctor still doesn't want me to go back full time until more time has pa__sed without any bleeding.
I hope others will have the same outcome as I have. I'm still amazed how I can bleed for over 2 months straight and then have it all go away and become a normal pregnancy. I think there is hope for all of us.
