April, you worry me with so much activity, but I guess what will happen is going to happen weather we are all overly careful or not, its in Gods hands I firmly believe that. Our babies will be healthy or they won't. Lets just pray they are all healthy and full term. Steffanie good luck tomorrow keep us posted on what happens. Jenn

i had my u/s today...they found the cause of my bleeding...looks like there was a small seperation of the membrane between the baby and the placenta...there is no active bleeding and this happens a lot...the only thing i have to worry about now is preterm labor...since i had bleeding early on, it is more likely to happen....it also doesnt help that the last 2 have been 3 and 8 weeks early respectively...so i will continue to be monitored...but hopefully ill make it till at least 30 or so weeks...oh and its a boy!!!!! thats makes 3 boys and 1 girl!!!

Just a quick update. I am now 27wks 3dys and I had an ultrasound on Monday. My baby boy is about 2lbs3oz and is growing well. All signs of the bleeding are now completely gone and am looking forward to and uncomplicated 3rd trimester. God bless you all and remember to keep positive. No good ever comes from focusing on the negative. You are all in my prayers:)

Hi Tiphanie and other regulars, Sorry, I have not posted for a while... the reason being, I delivered!!!!! My twins were born at 33 weeks gestation, 7 weeks premature. I went for a regular monitoring (having twins and bleeding forst/second tri) and the doc saw that the baby boy's heart rate was deccelerating with each contraction. I was rushed to the hospital to be monitoed closely and we had our babies the same eve. It was quite an event for me and my husband as we did not have much ready. My boy stayed in the NICU for a week and the girl stayed for about 2 weeks. Both are home now. They did not have any problems besides being underweight (4.2 and 3.10) They are recovering well not feeding great though. All of you hang in there. I have and will pray for you. And don't forget, pack your hospital bags and baby bags. You may need them earlier than you think... Hope everything goes ok with you Tiphanie. Good luck!

i'm 10 -12 weeks pregnant at 6 weeks they did a sonogram and everything appeared normal well for about the past week or two i've had alot of stress my husband and I are talking about spliting up and so on and so forth well after intercours last night i had one sharp stabbing pain during and really no pain after this morning i used the restroom and notice a fairly large amout of bright red blood with clotting like a period well i had spotting with my first son because im an o neg and he had a pausitive bloodstream but nothing like this i had blood all over me and all over my sheets when i returned to the bedroom and flipped on the lights i had an existing app. this morning with ob but i went early he examined me thinking im 1 weeks and tried to hear a heartbeat with the doppler moniter but nothing he acted really paniced but a__sured me to stay calm the bleeding is normal is some pregnancys he say and by reading all of your input i see that although frightening its" normal" however he says everything feels fine through a pelvic exam but i think he might be pacifying me to avoid any extra stress he also gave me my rhogam shot just incase but because his specialist doesnt come in until wed i have to wait 5 days to know ....should i go to the hospital and is the lack of heart beat something i should be keeping myself up this late for?(4:34 am texas time)

i had a sonogram at 6 wks everything was deemed normal and the baby perfectly healthy i'm supposed to be 10-12 wks, although ive been stressed ,no real problems,i had a sharp pain during intercourse last night and woke up this morning to heavy clotting and bright red blood lots. with my first son i had light spotting twice but it was just that ,spots, and it was due to the neg.blood in my body getting mixed will small amounts of my sons paus. i had an existing app. with OB but i went in early . they did a pelvic he told me everything felt fine ,i felt 12 wks well he tried to hear the heartbeat with the doppler and could not so he in turn told me i could be just 10 wks because the sono could have been off from my 6 wk app. he acted panic stricken however a__sured me the bleeding was sometimes normal as i have seen from reading all of your responses and stories.but i think i should have heard the babies heart beat by his expressions and also their sono. specialist doesnt come in for another five days.im really distraught and this site has comforted me some. i was just wondering if i should go on to the hospital or wait nervously for the doctor and if the heartbeat thing is in fact normal ????i wish you all the best of luck and my baby too. thank you....sleepless in texas(4:32amhere cant sleeep)

Bonnie, I guess the best advice I have would be to avoid s_x unfortunatly most of us on this sight are s_xless. But in the end of a healthy pregnancy it is for the best. I would try not to stree, sleep alot ad do nothing else until you know. I have been on home rest now for 14 weeks. I do as little as possible and even though I feel it helps I still have bleeding from time to time. I notice I bleed if I get stressed out or do to many activities. Now that I am 27 weeks2 days I feel that there is hope where I saw no hope before. I do believe though that what ever God wants will happen and we have no control over it - its all preplanned - everything is pre planned from you and your husband making this baby - possibly right down to God telling you both to stay together for the child you already have? anyway good luck to you and everyone. Millie Congrates, I hope to share the same good news one day.

Millie - April 12

Jenny, Thanks. I know you will share good news with all soon. Good luck to you.

Good news - I wrote you all in mid-February with bleeding. I am now at 21 weeks and no bleeding for 6 weeks. I've even gone back to the gym and (gasp) resumed very occa__sional s_x with my husband. We had our mid-point ultrasound last week and everything looked fine - placenta was not low, 10 fingers, 10 toes, etc. Best of luck to you all. Hang in there!

I had the same thing and the thing at about 12 weeks Slyvia and my doc told me that brown blood was just my womb getting rid of old blood if that makes you feel any better just take it easy until it stops. I am 16 and a half weeks pregnant and at the moment I am bleeding red blood very heavily (Im filling four to five padsa day!) I had an ultrasound four days ago and the doctor said the baby is fine and the bleeding should turn to brown blood. This hasnt happened yet and im so so worried and at my wits end. Where is all this blood coming from? Doc said a week and a half ago I had threatened miscarraige (the bleeding was lighter then!) Nobody can seem to give me a straight answer as to what's wrong. Can anyone help??

Stephanie - April 15

Hi Lou. I had heavy bleeding and 2 threatened miscarriages in a 10 day span. This was at 12 weeks or so. I then continued to bleed for 10 more weeks and then just brown spotting. I am now at 26 weeks and the bleeding has ended. the Dr. said that it was bleeding in the membrane (hematomas) but not necessarily near my placenta so it can be harder to detect. Now when I have an ultrasound I have lots of debris in my uterus which is old blood that never made it out and has not reabsorbed. the Dr. says this is fine but that it might mean I will see some more brown blood later on. I know that any bright red bleeding is worrying and if it continues to get heavier (my dr. told me soaking 1-2 pads in an hour) to call her and she will probably send me to the hospital. For the 10 weeks I bleed I went through about 6-10 pads a day, though not all were soaked, a good number were. I ended up demanding that I go see a high risk OB (fetal-maternal specialist) so that I could get a level 2 ultrasound. They could see the bleeding very clearly and though it didin't change what I was doing it did make me feel better knowing what was going on with the bleeding and just have the feeling that the dr. is looking our for your best interest. In my area (boston area) they don't allow appointments with a high risk OB until you are in your 18th week. Hang in there. The brown blood will come unfortunately it sometimes takes longer than what the dr' said. One last comment. When brown blood finally came I also had more days of just red blood as well. It took about 1 week for it to become just brown. Hope this helps.

Jenny - April 15

Well it has been 17 days ( knock on wood) sence I last had bleeding. I am however concerned about the sharp pains I am having in my v____al area. they come quickly and go quickly but they hurt. So I was researching this yesterday on the internet and I came across a sight that said that this can mean my cervix is dialating. Does anyone one else have information on these sharp pains? I am only 28 weeks and I would hate for this dialation theary to be true. I thought before I read this sight I am talking about that the pains where due to the baby pinching a nerve or something? Any thought would relieve my mind. Jenny

Millie - April 15

jenny, these pains could very well mean that your uterus is growing. And that puts pressure on your v____al area. I would not worry too much unless there is sustained cramping like a period with or without bleeding. I don't think it has anything to do with dialation of the cervix. Don't forget to mention it to your ob during yr next visit though. Good luck.

Jenny - April 16

Thank you Millie that was very comforting.
