I had the same experience as all of you. Once with not warning started bleeding with the coming of a very big clot. I freaked out so much and run to the hospital. As the checked the babies (twins) there were fine. The brownish spotting continue for few days. After two weeks, on my 13th, I started bleeding again with very mild cramping on my lower abdomen. I run to the doctor, they told me that the mild cramping sometimes happens for the rapid development of the placenta, specially because I am carry twins, for the bleeding no further explanation. I am also very scared and I am in bed rest until the bleeding stops. I wish you all the luck and the coming for healthy babies.

Hi girls - I am in my 14th week and had heavy bleeding 4 days ago. I went straight into the ER and they completed an ultrasound and an internal. The baby is fine, heartbeart 176 beats per minute. An internal exam showed that everything is still sealed up and the blood that is coming out is mine, not my baby's. No one can give me a straight answer though - why is this happening? I've been eating all the right foods, no s_x ( poor husband) and the bleeding started in a big gush out of nowhere. Are there any experts out there reading our symptoms that can give us an insight into this? My bleeding is not related to Placenta Previa. Occasionally the bleeding will stop for me, but then wil start again with a dark red, brown discharge with small clots. SInce Sunday ( it is now Thursday in sunny OZ) I have had three ultrasounds which show that the baby is fine. May God help all of us - we need to keep thinking positive thoughts and what is meant to be will be. Our babies are stronger than we think, the little battlers. If we are doing the best that we can do, then that is the best that we can do! Cheers Pauline.

Hello again. I had a really bad weekend with heavy bleeding with clotting and cramping. I went to my midwife and she was very surprised to find a heart beat. I was sent to the hospital of a level 2 ultra sound. They found nothing wrong with the baby and it is growing very well. The blood is my blood, but no one can tell me where it is coming from. I am on bed rest with very low activity. I find it hard to believe that with all the medical knowledge out there that they can't tell me what is happening to my body. It can't be healthy for me to bleed this much. Does anyone have any answers?

Hi again all My bleeding has slowed for the moment and it is not a scary to go to the toilet as it was. Rest and relaxation with positive thinking seems to be working for me. I have heard of so many stories about expectant mothers that have bled heavily throughout their pregnancy. One of the most common things I have heard that if the blood discharge does NOT have pink or grey clots then it is YOUR blood, not the baby's blood. Even though it is still such a shock for us to see the red/brown discharge, this seems to be common with alot of pregnancies! I am HAPPY to report that many of these mothers have gone on to deliver HEALTHY BABIES. For peace of mind, still get regular ultrasounds from your doctor to make sure that the baby is still okay, and keep up that positive thinking. Thinking scary, negative thoughts doesn't do any good for us or our babies. Remember - many women have delivered HEALTHY babies after red/brown bleeding throughout their pregnancies. Good thoughts to us all and here's to our babies! Regards Pauline.

12 wk, 5 days. I saw some bleeding yesterday. Today it is not there. I am relieved a little, but not fully. I agree with Pauline, you can deliver healthy babies even if you had bleeding in pregnancy... Kate my heart says everything will be fine and you will deliver a healthy baby. All the best ..

Hi again girls - I went for another ultrasound today and the doctor that was scanning said that bleeding is very common during this time for us. He explained that our bodies and hearts are working extra hard and there is so much blood flowing through our veins that it doesn't take much to strain something and for us to start bleeding. I also heard that sometimes when you lie down, the cervix relaxes and causes more of a flow, so don't be alarmed if you wake up in the morning with more flow. Hope this helps. This has helped rea__sure me, and I'm trying now to relax and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy. We will deliver healthy babies girls! Good , positive thoughts to all. Let us know how you're going Kate and Prachi - God Bless!

Hello there! I am feeling better after a long visit with my Dr. of Friday. I really let him know how I was feeling and that I wanted more answers. They ran blood tests and checked my iron. My iron turned out to be very low and he decided to give me another Rhogam shot in fear that I might develop Rh disease ( I'm A-). I boosted my iron and continue to rest. I am feeling better and my bleeding has decreased. Thank you Prachi and Pauline for your kind and positive words. Let us know how things are going. My thoughts go out to all that struggle with difficult pregnancies.

I feel good someone else is experiencing the same thing as me!!! This is baby #2 for me. No problems with the first pregnancy. I hit 12 weeks and whamo dark red bleeding. Not enough to fill a pad or anything but it freaked me out. My doc did an u/s. Baby was fine but I have a separation between the 2 layers of my amniotic sac the amnion and the chorion. She put me on bedrest. I have a 2 year old. I have been on bedrest for 2 weeks now and some days I've got no bleeding and then 3 days later it will start up again. Very scary and frustrating. I go on Wed for another u/s. The separation should close on its own with rest. I just am afraid I'm not going to get off this bedrest by wed because I spotted again today. My poor 2 year is really having a hard time. She wants her mommy back! I'll let you know if I get any more answers on wed.

I am 21 weeks today. I have just been discharged from hospital after 10 days, I had alot of bleeding and went to the hospital to check it out - they then told me that I had to stay! Even after 10 days in hospital they didn't know exactly where the bleeding was coming from, but they knew it was not from the baby but from me. I am now at home on total bed rest - i can only leave the bed for the loo and a quick shower in the morning. I am having another scan this Friday to check on the baby's progress. At the moment I am only bleeding slightly at night. Good positive thoughts to you all.

I agree with Pauline, that bleeding is common in pregnancy and in most cases it goes away with time, ending up with delivering healthy babies. My bleeding stopped after 1 day. I spotted brownish for next 2 days or so. I am optimistic now that pregnancy would go fine. I feel same for Kate and other friends, who had tough time coping with such situations. Keep up your self mentally strong and have optimistic att_tude, that would help in overcoming such tough situations mentally and physically.

I had a good day yesterday, but a bad night. I pa__sed another blood clot and had cramping. I spoke to my midwife yesterday and she said I have placenta abruptio. It is not a large area, so it does not alway show on the u/s. The baby continues to grow and do fine. Hang in there Nikki, I have a 6 year old son who also wants his mommy back. We called in family to keep him busy, but it is not the same. Try to plan special things that the two of you can do in your bed, even if it watch cartoons or eat lunch together. We all do need to stay strong and positive. My prayers go out to all!

I had reddish bleeding on Aug 19 which stopped same day. After that I have been spotting brownish almost daily. What your experience says, how long this may go and what does it indicates to ? (ultrasound was done on 19th Aug and Doctor said Baby growth and movement are fine) Pl. share your experiences
