Nicola, Yes, he had no problems at all. He's 4 now and as far as I know they have been using it that long for morning sickness. In fact, I know a girl who's taking it now.

Nicloa, Have tried ginder Ale? Or diet soda? I hear that helps. I can't tell you for sure coz I dinn have Morning sickness at all!!! Also candied ginger could help temporarily.

Hi, Nicola. Saw your posting about morning (all day) sickness and I personally suffered with it for over 3 months with each baby. What worked for me was mint. especally mint chocolate chip ice cream or milkshake. I think its mint and the cold that helped. This helped me even in winter. I also stayed away from oily food though I wasn't hungry for most things. Ginger actually didn't help at all. Lots of water also helped. I also worked 5 days a week and found that if I didn't get overheated I'd feel better. In case you are wondering I have posted from my second pregnancy starting from last jan/feb (2005) when I had heavy bleeding for weeks and regualr bleeding for months. I devlivered in July and have a healthy baby boy who is now 6 months and 20 pounds!! I also have a 21 month old girl who I also blead with during the pregnancy who is very healthy as well. Take care.

Hi, I had my ultrasound today and I am 6 weeks. The ultra sound tech said I have a sub chorionic hematoma. I have been spotting brown. Has any one else had this??

Julie - February 14

Tina, Yes, I had a HUGE one! After delivery, when the placenta was examined, the doc said he couldn't believe how big it had actually gotten. (See my post of Feb. 5, 2005) It resolved and no longer showed on ultrasound between 21 and 25 weeks. The brown blood is old blood...maybe yours has started to resolve already since you don't have any red bleeding. I have a healthy little boy who was 8 months old yesterday. Stay positive and try to rest as much as you can.

Tina, I had exactly the same thing. It was much bigger than the babies and the yolk sack. Satayed there a while. Do refer back to my postings in October 26th? I do have healthy twins now who are almost 11 months! Keep positive (I know it's the hardest thing to do!) and keep us posted.

Hi, Thanks for your comments. My doctor has not gotten back with me yet. I do not know if I should be working with this. I have a very physical job lifting all day 10 to 50 lbs. I have called off since this started , I am waiting for the Dr. to get back. Did your Dr. tell you to take it easy?? Thanks again.

Julie - February 15

Tina, My doc told me no lifting and to limit my activities.

The nurse finally called and said I would probably have a 10lb. weight limit. I reffered back to your postings Julie and Millie. It is helping me to stay positive. I had a miscarriage last year also. I am glad everything turned out good with you 2. I am just continuing to pray that this tiny one will be ok too.

I had this happen with my second child. I was rushed to the er as I was bleeding very bad but with no cramping. The er dr. told me I was miscarrying. I then had an ultra sound and the tech told me that a lot of times you can have small rips in your uterus that either do one of two things, dissapate into your uterus and you never know anything or they come out. In my case it came out. I gave birth and there where no side effects to the baby.

Yes, ER docs are not the best when it comes to Obstectrics. Glad to hear everything went well.

I'm 14 weeks pregnant. I woke up one morning, went to the bathroom and the toilet was full of bright red blood--I only pa__sed one large almond sized clot. I knew immediately to call the doctor and they told me to come in immediately. I never had any cramps (that's a good sign). The doctor did an internal exam and the blood appeared to only be coming from the cervix (not from within). The doctor ordered an ultrasound (u/s) and everything looked fine on the u/s (no clots/bleeding near the placenta). The doctor prescribed me 200 mg of Prometrium (progesterone) twice a day for a week, then taper off. The progesterone is for to protect the uterine lining/the placenta and hopefully stop the bleeding, but the bright red bleeding had seemed to have stopped before I had even filled my prescription that evening. It has been just a very little light brown staining for 3 days now since the bleeding started. The progesterone has been a chore... I have to take it in the morning (and before bed) and it makes me feel like I have had A LOT of alcohol--I slur words, stumble and MUST take a nap for an hour or two (I have a call into the doctor to see if this should be happening). The doctor also said that there could be a vein near the membranes that could have ruptured and in that case, the progesterone will not stop the bleeding (and that would not have showed up on the u/s). The doctor also mentioned that if I were going to miscarry the progesterone would not stop the inevitable, but at least it could be a preventative for a minor problem. Bleeding is much more likely in 2nd and so on pregnancies anyway and this is my 2nd pregnancy--I had no bleeding during my 1st pregnancy and have never miscarried. I had been feeling good the past week after having a very sick first trimester and was so happy to be feeling better, then this... very nerve racking! It's very comforting to read all your entries and see that this is a pretty common experience for this stage in the pregnancy. I just wish my doctor had of said to me that this is sometimes a part of pregnancy at this point.

Hi S. Tango, I know what you are going thru' first hand. I was prescribed Prometrium for 3 months. Also Progesterone ingections for a month. But the prometrium that was given to me was v____al pill (all the more chore for me!) If the oral one's bothering you too much you may want to talk to your doc and ask abt the other one. Hope things turn out well for you too...

I experience the same thing around week 14. I went to the hospital and they discovered a bloo clot in the placenta. The baby is fine and the heartbeat is strong.

Millie, thank you so much for your encouraging words. You've stayed so positive and supportive on these message boards even through your own tough times... you are a really neat person! Anyway, my bleeding has stopped and I talked to the dr's office today. The nurse said I can start to taper off of the progesterone, so now I just take it at night when I want to sleep and the side effects don't matter anyway. YEAH!
