I had reddish bleeding on Aug 19 which stopped same day. After that I have been spotting brownish almost daily. What your experience says, how long this may go and what does it indicates to ? (ultrasound was done on 19th Aug and Doctor said Baby growth and movement are fine) Pl. share your experiences

Hi everyone! This is soo rea__suring to hear other people are going through the same thing! Although I wish NONE of were...It's soo scary! I'm in my 12th week with my first baby. I found some dark red blood when I went to the bathroom this afternoon (not too much but enough to freak me out) and then the rest of the day just kind of light blood, little spots...kind of brownish with little peices in it... but then I had a chunk of brown stuff come out and I'm really scared! I'm not having any stomache pain....I went for an ultrasound and thank G-d the baby looked fine. Anyone got any advice on how I could know if it's a bigger problem or if it's really nothing to worry about. I'm in a dif country and the doctors here suck - I dont trust them at all!? I don't think the doctor even checked my placenta or sac to see if there were any problems - he didn't even ask me ANY questions about the bleeding!!?? Can someone help me? Hope you all feel only healthy and well...good luck to you all...

Sarah, same happened with me in 13th week ( Reddish bleeding for 1 day and brownish light bleeding/spotting after that and it is still there.. today is 11th day after I did bleed Red ). In my case too Doctor didn't say much, but he did ultrasound and a__sured that Baby is fine and growth/movement is as expected. He says its normal thing and happens to some pregnancies. Adviced Rest that I am following. I read in many websites, visited many forumns and they all say/suggests that you don't have to worry unless there is continuous pain/cramp. Generally ladies bleeds Red for 1-2 days and then they do spot brownish for next 2-4 weeks. And good thing that all pregancies ends up with healthy babies. ( this is what I have read or heard from other ladies, I am not an expert or doctor ). So be optimistic, be mentally strong and not to worry about anything. It will all go right.

i was 12 wks and 5 days along and last night i started bleeding and pa__sing clots so i went to the er and i was miscarring the weird thing was my babys have dies at 5 weeks. so for the last 7 weeks i have been carring them and they were already dead. last night was the hardest night of my life and i would say go to the doctor to find out whats going on. i hope ever thing works out better for you than it did for me. god bless

I am sorry for Brandy. Miscarriages mostly happens in first trimester. But I wonder, as brandy says, that baby died at 5 weeks which is just 1 week after the expected period date. So this could be some other problem like late period or hormonal imbalance that resulted in late and heavy period. But if ultrasound done after having bleeding in 2nd trimester and if radiologist reports that Baby's growth and movement is normal, then it is highly likely that everything would go fine. As Sarah and others have experienced to have brownish spotting after having bled red for first 1-2 days, it is normal as I have read and heard from various sources.. so there are more reasons to be optimistic about that. Thumb Rule : As long Bleeding/Spotting is not a__sociated with severe & continuous pain/cramp, there is not much to worry about.. but atleast keep your doctor informed about all what's happening. He may give you some medicines to stop bleeding or for similar thing.

please take complete bed rest and get in touch with ur doc. immdtly. I had the same problem with my second pregnancy after 12 weeks of pregnancy. It started with slight reddish discharge and was adviced bed rest. I was on bed rest for nearly 1 month but bleeding kept increasing. The ultrasound always showed the baby doing fine and the placenta progressively moving up( The diagnosis was placenta previa) and the internal os closed. But I kept having heavy bright red bleeding . By 18th week I had pa__sed sone clots too and the bleeding was gushing. I was losing blood by say 3-4 tea cups a day. I was hospitalised for 2 days with complete bed rest . nothing helped. The pregnany was terminated in 18th week. I don't want to scare u girls but please be very careful and be in regular touch with ur doc. God bless u all. May u all carry to term

I went to see an experienced doctor today, he told me my bleeding is not from uterus or placenta, it's due to my cervical polyps ! It's not a problem at all, I feel a big relief today...

Hi Prachi, Kate and everyone else. I hope you're all good. It is so scary seeing bright red blood. I started bleeding two weeks ago, and it slowed to a brownish discharge. For the last three days I had absolutely nothing, for which so I was so grateful. My doctor prescribed 5 mg of Folic Acid to help me with the child's growth. Yesterday I was silly and went for a long walk during my break at work and started getting a sore belly. When I came back to wrk I felt I flow and was shocked to se bright red blood again. I was feeling some slight cramping too so went straight to the Emergency dept in the Womans Hospital and they gave me another ultrasound and the baby was there with a heartbeat of 144 beats per minute, and it was moving around all over the place. I was so glad to see that! But I felt so down and depressed that the blood had started again. No doctor can tell me what's going on. Then I read the sad stories about losing babies in the 18th week and I feel so scared! Am I going through this emotional rollercoaster to end up losing my baby in a few weeks anyway? I am 16 weeks and 3 days along. I'm trying so hard to be positive but I am so worried, especially reading about poor Jnt's story. God be with you Jnt and thank you for sharing. Sometimes sharing with other women makes you feel so much better. Why can't the doctors tell me what is wrong with me? Thank you all for your help and God bless us and our babies to carry and deliver healthy babies to term. Sometimes it is so hard to stay positive. The docotor yesterday said that there is no 'normal' pregnancy, which made me feel a bit better. Thanks for reading.

Congratulations Prachi on your 15 weeks! Are you still having spotting or brown discharge?
