Hi Michelle, I am from Pune, India. Glag to learn that we share same due date. Mine is too 27 Feb. I am housewife. Eagerly waiting for my baby.. its long wait .. but I do wait for Sundays when my Week ends and From Monday New week starts. Like this time is pa__sing by... I am on Bed rest so not even climbing down/up 2 steps. Those 2 steps would take me to outside of my house, but I am strong in my mind. I can still wait for some more time before I can start going out of my house, in neighborhood. Pauline, Gale, Tania, Paige .. where are you all from ? Cheers, Prachi

Hi girls, glad to hear we all hanging in there-we all seem to be building a bond, my husband started laughing at me as he said-I cant believe you find friends were ever you go or whoever you speak to. Thats right I say us women need to stick together. Well as far as my spotting is concerned, I am still having that brown discharge stuff, it is not as dark as before but I am back to getting about 2inc x 1inch on my pad today. I am staying positive tho-I saw the doctor today and he said my placenta was a little low but believes it will lift as my uterus gets bigger. I recieved my doppler today and it was great to find the babys heartbeat on my own. It does take a while to work out what sound is what tho. I am 14wk2days and cant wait to start getting some movement. MICHELLE-I too get some pain low in my uterus, but I think it is just growing pain and stretching of the uterus, I think we are so aware of our bodies at the moment because we are so concerned any pain we relate it back to the bleeding, but it probably has nothing to do with it. Any way ladies keep going and thanks for your input. Tania xx

Sorry forgot to say where I was from-I am from Adelaide in Australia. Seeya!

Hi all, Wow, we are from al over the place aren't we. Very neat! Tania - I wanted to rent a doppler as well, but everyone keeps saying it's a waste of money and I will panic if for some reason I cant hear the heart. Well, I still want one! I guess you can hear the heart with a stethoscope at about 20 wks, so I think I may try that soon. Soon enough I will feel the little guy (or girl) and Im sure that will be reasuring! Talk to you all soon.

I have been reading all of your messages, and I thought I should share my story. I also had two bleeding episodes over the last 2 weeks. In between, I had spotting. I decided to take a week off work and now there is no bleeding! I am really happy about that! The drs think it might be a low lying placenta. I am hoping that it will move up soon so that I can put this past me. The only problem is, what do I do about going back to work? Should I return to work? I think my doc will say that I can return- it was mostly my idea to go on full best rest (not just pelvic rest like she had suggested). BTW- I am 14 weeks tomorrow- I never knew this could happen to me after the 1st trimester . . .

Angie, Bed Rest during/after bleeding is debatable issue. I have read in reputed Pregnancy Book that there is no evidence that Bed Rest is cure/remedy for bleeding. But my doctor advised me of Bed Rest. He says internal healing is very delicate, which may start bleeding again if you do movements during/after bleeding. So I am on Bed Rest or making minimal of movements ( not going outside of my House ). I can understand, for working ladies its more painful to stay at home all the time.. But its your decision. I would suggest, take bed rest till Bleeding stops completely. Wait for a week or so and then you can think of going to work after taking Doctor's advice.

ladies, i just wanted to thank you guys for this web site, i had a miscarriage today, after 12 1/5 weeks.i had the d and c procedure done right away. i wish you guys all the best, i know you guys will have healthy beautiful babies. thanks for listening to me the past couple of days...it always made me feel better....with time i'll feel better. i already told my husband when our 3 month waiting period is over it's time to make a baby (it's always fun trying...haha) best wishes to all of you.

Michelle - September 17

Hi Paige, I am sooooo sorry! I know how it feels to loose a baby. My last pregnancy ended in misscarriage at 10 weeks. You just always have to remember that there is likely a genetic problem, and had you gone full term, who knows how the baby would have been. That always made me feel a bit better. We are always here for you if you need to talk. For now, just rest and take care of yourself. You are in my prayers!

Had an ultrasound on Sep 17th. Had an appnt on 19th, unfortunately the dcotor cancelled it. Since I was bleeding heavily consulted a midewife. She said everything is fine. But she has no reason why I could be bleeding. All she has suggested me is to take a week bedrest, a___lyse whether the bleeding slows down/stops. Wonder why when so many are suffering the no reasearch is made to know the reason for bleeding.

Dara - September 20

Dear All, I wanted to let you all know that I had an ultrasound and an amnio a week ago last Friday. I had bad cramping, and I was so scared that I went to the emergency room. Fortunately, I had no fluid leakage, and I haven't had any bleeding since the day before the amnio. I am feeling fine now. I am 16 weeks, 2 days, and my doctor says all is fine. I am praying that my periodic, light bleeding does not return. I have resumed all normal activities, but if the spotting starts again, I will get back to bed. Good luck to all of you. I am starting to feel out of the danger zone. I will get my amnio results, hopefully by week's end. The doctor said that I am having another boy. I am very happy. My doctor also said that my placenta was low lying, but he does not diagnose placenta previa until later in a pregnancy, if the placenta has not moved. Thanks to all.

Michelle - September 20

I am glad to hear all is going well Dara, and congrats on your baby boy! I go for my 18wk US on the 29th and am very excited to find out what it is!

Tara - September 21

Hi, I feel kind of strange writing this. I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow. Today I went to the bathroom and had a gooey brown discharge when I wiped, I called the dr right away and went in for an US. They just did a belly US and I saw the heartbeat (which was 176 and the baby was moving all over the place). Then the Dr came in and did an exam. She said that the outside of my cervix is a little open but that's normal with 2nd pregnancies. She said that she won't check the inside of my cervix because it could cause unnecessary problems. She said that if there's a problem it's too early to do anything about it so if I am still having a discharge in 10 days to come back and they'll check me again. I asked her if I should limit my activity and she said that if it makes me feel better than I can but if there's a problem it's too early to do anything about it. Now reading about you guys and that they have put you on bedrest and really seem to be working with you. It kind of frustrates me that my dr isn't doing anything and is just waiting "to see what happens".

Dara - September 22

Tara, my doctor, who is a highly recommended high risk obgyn, also says that there is nothing he or I can do. I had oca__sional (and extremely disturbing) spotting from 7 to 14 weeks. I got three ultrasounds that all got a heartbeat and a baby that was moving and developing fine. My doctor told me that unless my spotting got worse or I experienced severe cramping, to go about my daily activities. At first he recommended rest, but he wasn't that adament about it. As it turns out, I haven't had any more spotting in two weeks. (I pray it stays that way), and I am expecting the results of my amnio today. I really think that in most instances, there is nothing that would ultimately make a big difference in the outcome. Resting made me feel better, as though I was doing something. I also thought that my spotting slowed with bedrest, but that may have been coincidental. So, don't be too frustrated if you truly trust your doctor. If you think you are being led astray, however, get a second opinion. I wish you luck. My doctor says bleeding during a normal pregnancy happens sometimes for no known reason, and it doesn't insure miscarriage (although he prefers it when his patients don't have spotting).

Tara - September 22

Thanks, I am actually feeling better today. I called the nurse that was there yesterday and she told me to relax, get some rest and see how I feel tomorrow. She also said that whenever I want to hear the baby's heartbeat, to come in! It was great to read what everyone had to say. Thanks for the encouragement ... I am just believing that everything is going to be great :)

Tania - September 23

Hi Ladies, Good to hear all is well with you all. Paige I am soo so sorry for your loss-my heart felt prayers are with you. I have now hit the 15wk 1 day mark and have not spotted at all for 3 days-touch wood it stays that way. My doctor says bed rest was not necessary and if something was to happen it would happen anyway. Well thats what he says-I say do what you think is best you know your own body better than him! I am off to Malaysia for a holiday in 10 days or so-I am quite scared as I think what if something happens while I am away-but I think I will rest more there than when I am at home. I am going with my mum and two boys 7yrs and 5yrs. Mum says she will take care of everything and my husband wants me to go and take a load off as I work full time and run a house and he works away for 4-6 weeks at any time so he thinks I deserve this rest! The doctor feels it will be good for me and the flying should not be a problem-I will be taking my doppler with me for sure! It is great if I am feeling a little insecure I have mastered how to use it and i just have a quick listen to bubby's heart beat and all is rea__sure for me. It really is a mind rester for me. Take care all and talk to you soon. xx

Michelle - September 23
