Hey there...I am due October 15th and am going in for my 17 week appointment on Wednesday afternoon. I am still not keeping anything in the way of food down...I am starting to get annoyed. I can keep sparkling water which is good...but food is no longer fun to make, buy, or eat. I have lost about 12 pounds, but hopefully that will all change in the next few weeks (God I hope so) Does anyone think they will do an u/s on me for my 17 week appointment...I am desperate to know the s_x...hope all of you ladies are doing well...be well all of you!!!

Hi Heather. Sounds like you've been getting a little beat up and still at 17 weeks. Ick. I feel for you!! I'll bet they'd do a quick sono for you if you ask. Are you scheduled for one anytime soon? Waiting to find out the s_x is nerve wracking. I just can't comprehend how some families can wait until d-day. Haha! That's too much willpower. Hope you get over that MS hump soon! Good luck at your appt! Keep us posted!

Mrs Sandy- Im pretty sure Im having a boy and I think boys names are so easy, if we have a girl I dont have a clue what we will name her. DH and I have gone over names a million times for girls and come up with nothing. Ill be 19 weeks tomorrow. Last night I got to feel the baby move from the outside for the first time. He felt like he was doing somersaults in there so I pushed on my belly and could feel all of it. Im so excited!! Only 10 more days and I get to have my real u/s and hopefully be sure its a boy! How is everyone else?

I can't believe how much more movement I feel now even from last week. It's awesome. I haven't tried to feel from the outside, I thought it was too soon! I should check. I have an ultrasound next monday and will hopefully find out what it is. I am so excited. I think it's a girl, but of course i could be wrong!

Hi Ladies! I'm 17 weeks along - I'm due October 13th. This is my second. I have a daughter who is 3 1/2 - she's super excited. Talks to my belly every day! I can't stand the suspense, so yes, we'll find out what we're having at my 20wk U.S. I live in Chicago and our summers get pretty nasty and humid! It's going to be one long summer! The first place I gain weight is in my thighs and I remember my last pregnancy (was preggo in the summer) I had the most horrible rash on my inner thighs from them rubbing together... and the hot/humid weather didn't help!

Hi Catsmommy! That's how Minnesota is! It is so cold in the winter and then 90-100% humidity at time during the summer! YUCK! And I am also with you on the thighs!!!! I feel like my thighs are already rubbing together!!!

How's the 2nd trimester weight gain?? I'm reading everywhere, a healthy gain is 5-6 pounds in the 1st trimester. I was at a normal weight before getting pregnant. I'm 17 weeks and was up 12 pounds at my 16wk appt - YIKES!! If this keeps up, I'll have gained about 55-60 pounds by the time this kid is born! I walk about 30-45 minutes 4-5x a week. I try to eat lots of veggies, fruits and fiber. I admit - I do indulge in cookies and chocolates a few times a week, but not enough to have gained 12 pounds! Anyone gaining lots of weight... fast!?

I put on 60p with my first full term and was near 40 with my second baby who was born 9 weeks early so I feel for your poundage. Haha. Not sure where I am yet with this one. I have my 2nd appt on Thursday. It sounds like you're eating healthy though and getting plenty of exercise. Maybe you're pumping some serious blood through your veins? : )

LOL... I better be pumping some major blood, is right! I was reading the thread of comments and you mentioned that you work from home? I do too! I work from home full-time and travel occa__sionally. As you mentioned, I don't know how we would manage otherwise. It's a LOONNGG story, but before I started to work from home, I was fortunate to work in a complex that offered daycare downstairs.... for about $1000/month!! That was ridiculious, but you have to do, what you have to do! We live right outside of Chicago. My bestfriend who lives in the loop (downtown Chicago) was paying $1300/month - our girls are only 4 weeks apart in age.

Sorry... I think I'm getting off the "2nd trimester" subject.

Wow! That's insane! That's built in population control for sure! : ) And no worries about getting off topic...that's pregnesia for you. We've all been victims. So ladies, I'm feeling like c___p since Friday. My belly is sooo tired, I feel like I've done a million sit ups. Today I woke up feeling pretty good but by mid-late morning it was acting up again. By the end of the day here I was so uncomfortable I couldn't stand up straight and felt like I was going to vomit. I shagged my husband out with our toddler for a bit after our baby fell asleep so I could plop down on the recliner and chill. If I don't move it isn't too bad. Anyone else experience this? (I'm 13/14 weeks)

Cat- I am down about 9-11lbs right now ONLY because I was sick the first tri. Murph- I really think you should call the doc. You have mentioned a few things that make me feel like you should do it to be safe. By the way...what to both of you ladies do for a living that work at home?
