I developed preclampsia with my first pregnancy (11 years ago); I don't quite remember when it first reared its ugly head; however, I am sure it wasn't as early as 15 weeks. Anyway, I was placed on bedrest a couple of times throughout the pregnancy and the doctor induced me 2 1/2 weeks early because my blood pressure was out of control. My daughter was very healthy, weighing in at 7 lbs 6 oz. Your doctor will probably have you coming in regularly for Non-stress tests to make sure the baby isn't stressed as a result of your high BP. The good news is that I did not develop this condition with my second child and I am currently 24w3d and no sign of it. Good luck! Be sure to reduce your sodium intake as much as possible and drink plenty of water!

this would be #4 for me, i have 3 boys, ages 6,3,and 2 and did have high blood pressure with the last 2 of them, without signs of preclampsia in urine and blood a___lysis.I'm just worried because my blood pressure usually dose not get high this soon, it usually only gets high in the last trimester and stays high postpartum as well for a few months. I'm glad to see that your experience came out well, and congrats on the new one to come. Thought of any names?

Well, you are due for a girl then, huh? I am hoping for a boy as I have two girls; however, this is my current husband's first child, so any baby is going to be a blessing. Yes, we have names already to go. We agreed on Roman Merritt for a boy (Roman was my husband's father name and Merritt was my deceased nephew's name, as well as my deceased grandfather's name). We did a family vote on Thanksgiving for the girl's name; her name will be Shaylee Kay (all of us girls have Kay as our middle name). Do you have names picked out? What does the doc say about your current BP?
