Good Morning ladies! I am at 17 weeks 2 days. The doc is anticipating the due date at December 9th. All is well. I am bummed though that the doctor won't do the next ultrasound until about 24 weeks. Congrats to you all! :)

I have a fetal doppler we bought it when I was pregnant with our 14 month old. We got a stork radio 3mh digital and we bought it new from stork radio on their ebay site for a little over a hundred dollars and on their retail site I think it was 400.00. Anyway since 10 weeks I have been listening to the hb. I listen every night and it has saved me trips to the OB to hear that rea__suring sound.

Congrats and welcome Gina and Amber! Hope your pregnancies are going smooth. I am 18 weeks today. Wow 24 weeks is a long time to wait to find out what you're having. Amber- when is your ultrasound? I have the 2nd tri screening and scan on Monday, hope everything goes well. I'm really nervous b/c we had a false alarm last time and it really ruined the rest of my pregnancy. Carly, maybe I'll check ebay and see if I could find a deal like you did. I tried one of those chintzy ones made by Bebe Sounds and it was a piece of c___p. Does yours work well? Is it digital or do you have to count to find the bpm? Colleen

My doppler is great it is a Stork Radio and it is digital and shows the bpm on the unit.

Hi jess- IT'S A BOY!!!!! We are sooo happy!!!! It went really well, but they did see a small spot on the liver (echogenic foci) but said not to worry, it was no big deal. I will have to have another scan at 28-30 weeks to check on it. I'm trying not to worry. Do you know for sure that you are having a girl or is it based on the 1st tri scan?

Yes its for sure another, girl we just had a scan last week when I was 19 weeks. My husband was very disappointed and the rest of his family was too, they all wanted a boy. Kinda makes me feel bad, this poor little girl is like unwanted.
Congrats on your health boy though! I would be nervous too about the spot on the liver, but hopefully its like they told you and will go away and turn out to be nothing. I cant remember, is this your first baby?

Clindholm congratulations on the little boy! I remember you saying that was what you were hoping for! What does the spot on the baby's liver indicate? Hopefully everything is going to be fine. I can 't wait till my scan. It is next Thursday!

Hi jess- Once you have that little girl in your arms all the boy feelings will change. I have 2 friends that just had boys and wanted girls, they both said once they had their babies, it did not matter one bit that they were hoping for girls. Also once everyone gets used to the idea, it will be better. There's always next time for a boy! Bryandi- they didn't really know what the spot could be. If there were several, it may indicate an infection, but there was only one and they said typically it just goes away & they never know what it was. It just shows up as a bright spot on the scan just like bones do. I think I may call my doc and see what her opinion is since this was a hospital doc not one I'm too familiar with. Good luck at your scan, what are you hoping for? Colleen

Oh yeah... I'm a SAHM as well. I do work 2 days a week at the local bar which I'm thankful as it gets me away from the terrible twos for 4-8 hours each time! Its also nice to have another girl as I have all girl stuff.. some boy shorts and things that are red or blue, but nothing that shouts 'boy'. Does anyone thing I should a__sume girl since that was the guess and not 100% sure or just a__sume that we don't know and see if I can get a 3-D u/s later on?

Hi jennifer- I don't think the ultrasound tech would have said anything unless she was fairly sure. Congrats and I'm sure you will all love that little girl just as much as a boy, it's just that you have to get used to the idea. When will you have the level 2 ultrasound?
I've never had a level 2 us so I don't know. I had one at 5.5 weeks to make sure everything was ok, then the regular one this week at 19 weeks.
