Hi girls, I think the names Brooke and Lucas are beautiful. I am glad everyone is feeling well. I can't wait until tomorrow. I couldn't sleep last night knowing that I have one more day till the ultrasound - I will hopefully find out if it is a boy or girl. My husband picked out Michael for a boy,( his dad's name). But we have Nina Sophia for a girl! I don't know - i will let you know hopefully tomorrow. Today I am tired - Bad case of heartburn all night long!! I think I watched 10 hours of the Olympics instead of sleeping
Jess - stay resting !!!

Good morning! Tara- don't forget to check in & let us know how the ultrasound goes! Jess- I know it must be impossible to try to rest with a 2 year old. My dd is 20 months and after I get home from work, I don't have alot of energy left for her. Just do the best you can and as long as they keep checking you, I'm sure the baby will be alright. Welcome kelstar and congrats! Have you picked out a name yet? Are you feeling well? Colleen

Just got home - It's a boy - Everything looked great - Another doctor will look at it, but the doctor I saw said she didn't see anything of concern- I can't stop staring at the picture. He wouldn't move too much though - very content with his feet over his face.
Welcome kelstar!!!

Thanks Tara, you only gained about 10 lbs right? Some doctors are too weight conscious. I've gained 13 and they didn't say anything about it. It may be b/c I only gained 18 last time and they didn't care for that too much. Well the appt went well, I had to get more bloodwork to check for recent infection for the Parvovirus and have another ultrasound next Thursday (not complaining about that though) I just can't wait to see my lil guy again! My bp was a little higher than it has been, I hope I'm not on my may to preeclampsia again. They also want be back again in two weeks. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Colleen

Hey colleen, that's cool that you'll get another u/s. I never complain about those. I won't get another one for the rest of the pregnancy unless there is a problem. It is so nice to see the baby though, I can't stop staring at the pictures she gave me. (7 of them).
Well, keep posted !!!
As of my 4/12 month appointment (last month) I had only gained 10 the whole time and they were very pleased. Then I went this month and had gained an additional 10 bringing me to a grand total of 20lbs. But, I am not worrying about it because I eat very well. I eat a very balanced diet and snack on yogurt, fruit, and cut up raw vegetables. When I was pregnant with my son, I had gained 50 lbs by this point -

Tara- I wouldn't worry about it either since you are eating so well. I wish I could say the same. I'm not big on fruits and veggies, but love the protein foods. I also have a big need for ice cream daily. Since I can't drink too much milk, I rationalize that I need the calcium. Is anyone starting to get the leg cramps yet or is it just me? I had them bad last time, they would wake me up from a dead sleep. How is everyone else doing? Colleen

colleen, i am with you on the leg cramps - they are the worst....I've been trying to ddrink more water because apparently they are usually reduced by water????

Tara- That's interesting, I thought it was a lack of calcium- hence the ice cream :) I have been trying to drink alot of water, thank god the ladies room is only about 10 steps from my desk at work. I am also still exhausted, I thought the second tri was supposed to be better? I think I got gyped. Colleen

Hey girls, glad to hear everyone is movin' along! Here is some info on leg cramping that I found- maybe this will help with several things to try out to help you out:
How can I leg cramps during pregnancy?
Try these tips for keeping leg cramps at bay:
• Avoid standing or sitting with your legs crossed for long periods of time.
• Stretch your calf muscles regularly during the day and several times before you go to bed.
• Rotate your ankles and wiggle your toes when you sit, eat dinner, or watch TV.
• Take a walk every day, unless your midwife or doctor has advised you not to exercise.
• Avoid getting too tired. Lie down on your left side to improve circulation to and from your legs.
• Stay hydrated during the day by drinking water regularly.
• Try a warm bath before bed to relax your muscles.
• There's some evidence that taking a magnesium supplement in addition to a prenatal vitamin may help some women. Check with your provider before taking any kind of supplement during pregnancy.
You may have heard that having leg cramps is a sign that you need more calcium, and that calcium supplements will relieve the problem. Though it's certainly important to get enough calcium, there's no good evidence that taking extra calcium will help prevent leg cramps during pregnancy. In fact, in one well-designed study, pregnant women taking calcium got no more relief from leg cramps than those taking a placebo.

HI ladies, I am here too. I am going to go back up and respond to a couple of things above realy quick.
Clindholm, I moved my dd into a big girl bed at 12 mths and my son into a big boy bed at 14 mths and they both
adjusted really quickly with no issues. They both go to sleep really well, no fights or anything. It is good to know that
you are immune to the fifth disease. That would be soo scary. I would be so mad if that had happened to me. Jess, I have had c-sections
with both of my children and will again with this one. I used Turbo Jam (not sure if you have ever heard of it) and lost all of my baby weight plus an extra 10
pounds after my second. I gained 57 pounds with my first and 53 with my second. So far I have gained 25 and am 23 weeks. Since my previous pregnancies were both 50+ I
am really really hoping to keep my weight to 39lbs. 1 lb per week. micsmms how crazy that you just found out you were pg and that you were 5 mths along!!! That is amazing.
Tara congratulations on the little boy! So I found out at my 19 weeks scan that we are having another girl. So we will have a 3 1/2 year old girl a 22 mth old boy and a newborn
when this little bundle is born. Our due date is December 16th, but will go sometime the week before since I am a c-section. That is it for new news for me. Night ladies.
