Tara- Ebay is great you can find really good deals. I get upset though, when I find something I really like and I dont end up "winning" it. How great your oldest can be your little helper. And in a few years a built in babysitter. :o) Nothing much here. I am having knee problems, they were really bad toward the end of first pregnancy but this is starting pretty early. Its only me left one but it is swollen and killing me. Another thing to make me sit on my b___t more and get fatter, which in turn just makes the knee problem worse.

Mics- I have been in maternity since about 12 weeks! You lucky thing. By my lmp, I was due 12/10 but my ob changed it to 12/7 (my lo's 2nd birthday!) I think the dating is not exact since I know exactly when I ovulated. Tara- That's great that your 11 year old is so positive and will be able to help out. I had not thought of getting clothes on ebay, that's a great idea. I'm hoping to get through the rest of this pregnancy without buying more than 1 or 2 more pieces. Jess- did your doc have any suggestions on the knee problem? Is it just the additional baby weight that aggrivates it? I'm up about 13 pounds now and hoping not to go over 20, maybe 25 max total. Who is planning on b___stfeeding and who is planning on furmula? Just curious. Colleen

The OB wouldnt have any suggestion for my knee, they would just probalby send me to an orthopeadic. I went to one for a short while after my first baby b/c both my knees were killing me. I really couldnt keep going to the physical therapy appointments they sent me to b/c I have a very demanding job and had a newborn at home and just didnt have the time. I lost some weight and starting excercising more and they got much better. But Im guessing from the weight gain and the distribution of weight (the big belly in front throws off my balance) it is aggravating it again. Im sure I will be fine, just will be in some pain for a while. I plan to go on a strict diet after this baby is born and hopefully the weight loss will help my knees again. Anyway- the b___stfeeding- I dont know. Im so torn. I really didnt enjoy it all that much last time ( I did it for about 2-3 months- had to stop before coming back to work- my job is not one where I can easily pump). Plus I dont want to be in pain from recovering from a c-section and have to deal with the pain and frustration of breatfeeding. But at the same time I know its best for the babe and I feel like I did it with my first and would feel guilty if I didnt do it with this one too. Colleen are you going to be b___stfeeding? Anyone have any advice?

clindholm - August 25

Yes, I will be giving the b___stfeeding another shot. I also was only able to do it for about 3 months. I had to go back to work and to be honest, I just couldn't get anything out with that d__n pump! I don't know if I was doing it wrong or what. Another thing I did that may help you if you decide you really want to, I gave the baby 1 or 2 formula feedings per night as she got bigger and nursed for the day and the remaining night feedings. That way dh can take a shift, lol- and we all know the formula takes longer to digest so we can get at least a little sleep. It's just so much harder than anyone will willingly admit (nurses, lactation consultants). I know it's best so I will try again, but I will NOT beat myself up with guilt if it doesn't work out. My lo was also a preemie- 4 lbs and she had problems sucking so I think that may have contributed to our not being overly successful. It's just so hard when you have to go back to work full time so soon. Anyway, that's my rant on b___stfeeding. My sister nursed her kids til they were like 2 or 3 so I get the guilt trip. Also the nursing helped me lose the weight very quickly. Jess- I hope you are not on your feet all day at work and can put your feet up when you get home. I couldn't imagine having my knees ache all the time, how miserable. Colleen

Girls, I feel so stupid, I just realized that that there are 3 pages + to this thread, and didn't realize that I always had to go to the end of the thread to get to the recent posts! I turned off the email notification, as I over-did that and it was filling in my mailbox- and here I thought I was internet savvy! Cindholm, your lucky to have such a great helper! Here is a funny, kinda- story. I'm very close to my niece whos 10 years old. Kind of treat her like a little sister- but don't see her all the time, maybe monthly. She started sobbing! She doesn't want me to have a baby, because she is the "special girl" in my life. I was so sad! I started sobbing too, and hugged her, and tried to convince her that she will still be my special girl, but I'll really need her help so she has to be like a big sister for the baby. She said that she doesn't want to... I'm sure things will get better- but man, I was counting on her for a babysitter! Guess I will have to rule that one out... : ( Tomorrow I go for a check up. Hopefully no surprises! Hope you are all well!

Tara- What grade do you teach? I always wanted to be a kindergarden teacher. I would be worried about all the germies too. (I'm a border-line germaphobe). You can probably have your doc run a blood test to see what you are already immune to. Chances are, you probably already picked up alot of bugs from the kids before you got pregnant. Miccsmms- they just changed it to the multiple pages yesterday. I bet your little niece just about broke your heart! Make sure she knows that there is a big difference between a Special Girl and a baby. Try to spend some extra time with her if you can. I think she'll come around with time and be helpful with the baby. It will make your bond even stronger, as she will be more of a buddy than a daughter which is what pre-teens need in their lives. Good luck at your check-up, I'm also off to mine this afternoon, hope all is well. Colleen

TaraO - August 29

Good luck at your appointments ladies. I am a 4th grade teacher and I think I have picked up every germ for the past couple of years. I am just going to do the best i can in keeping my room clean and making the kids wash their hands. Good luck today.

Gina75 - August 31

Hi ladies, I just wanted to check in...I too started back to school last week. I teach 5th graders. It was really hot and I am getting some more swelling in my left leg, which is frustrating. I did find out last week that the little one is a boy. I am so excited. I had a friend tell me I will make a great boy mom....hmm? I guess I will just do my best. Hope you are all doing well :)

clindholm - September 2

Hi girls, hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. Tara- I bet you have quite an immune system by now! Gina- Congrats on your boy! Wonder what they meant by a "great boy-mom"? Hi Bryandi- I wonder if you have low sugar too? Anyway, I had to have bloodwork done again on Friday b/c at the last scan they still saw that little spot on the baby's liver and they wanted to test for CMV which sounds pretty scary. I won't get any results til at least Friday. Great, another week of worrying. I'm getting really tired of all the stress and worry and bloodtests. I will officially be 6 months on Friday. Hope the third tri is better than the 1st and 2nd. Colleen

Bryandi - September 2

Colleen what is CMV? I don't think I have heard of that. I will find out in a week and a half if I have low sugar too. I have never had my sugar test come back with abnormal before with my two children, but maybe I have developed something with this pregnancy.

clindholm - September 3

Bryandi- CMV is a virus that normally is no big deal, the symptoms are similiar to mono. When you get it while pregnant, you can pa__s it on to the baby and it can cause vision and hearling loss as well as mental/developmental problems. It's pretty scary. What is your due date? How is your puppy and what breed is it? How is everyone else? Hopefully feeling well. Colleen

clindholm - September 4

Hey girls are we ready to go to the 3rd trimester board? Hope everyone is doing ok.

TaraO - September 4

Just wanted to check in - Started school yesterday, It's been quite crazy,. Anyway I can't wait till the third trimester. When does that start??? How are you feeling Colleen? I am sure everything is fine. You are probably more exhausted from having a lo and being pregnant. I can't imagine. Mine is 11. He's pretty self sufficient!!!! Talk to you later

jessb - September 4

Hi all! Icant believe we will be on the third tri board soon. I am 27 weeks, so I think I only have one more week on this board. Colleen- I hope everything is okay with CMV screen, I will cross my fingers for you. Tara- I admire teachers- I dont know if I would have the patience... I havent done my glucose test yet- I imagine I will have to do that soon right? Has everyone else done it already?
