JMP - Love your profile pic! I had one at 9w4d... not far off from yours... and he still looked like a blob! LOL... its amazing how much they grow in such a little bit of time. I know what you mean about worry though... it never ends! Enjoy the fact that you are not having a lot of morning sickness... mine lasted til about 18 weeks for me (I'm 20.5 now) Hope your LO behaves for your nuchal. My little guy was so active it took an hour and 2 techs to get the right measurements. My nuchal actually turned out fine (2.4mm), it was the triple test bloodwork that caused my risk to increase. Do they do the 2 bloods where you are too?

JMP - March 11

Yes..The nuchal and the two blood samples too..very nervous..the odds at my age are like slim to none, but of course things happen! Very scary thought..the only thing that keeps me going is my increasingly large belly! LOL..yes you can totally see my baby bump it's been very exciting for my and the bf he loves to rub my belly. lol it's so hard when I'm in school to concentrate on anything but baby!

Augustmommy how did your nuchal go?

augustmommy3 - March 11

i haven't had one. will have it next wednesday. I only gave one blood sample 3 weeks ago, but haven't heard anything from a doctor.

JMP - March 11

omg three weeks ago? LOL your obviously a lot better than me I totally would have been calling and freaking out. I'm kind of looking forward to the second baby, maybe I won't worry so much!!

With us, they did the first blood test the same day as the nuchal (week 12-13) and the second blood test during week 16. Only after they had all samples, would they give me any results. And yes, age plays a BIG part. If I had gotten my same results 10 or even 5 years ago, it may not have even been an issue (I am 36).

you know, i just figured that if there was something really wrong they would probably call me right? nor not. i don't know. i wonder if my doctors office is just being really slow with everything. seems like you guys started the blood testing and all the other testing way earlier than i did. i mean i am 20 weeks and i haven't had anything done yet. meaning nothing major. they told me i had to get all that screening done at 16 weeks, but they misunderstood themselves cause when i got there they just did a regular check up. maybe that's better, the less i know the less i have to worry about. :)

Hmmm... are you sure you are going for a nuchal Augustmommy? I was told there is only a small window of opportunity to do those by both the u/s tech and my gentics counsellor. I was told it could only get done in the 12th or 13th week. If you are already 20 weeks along, your baby's measurements are going to be different. Maybe its just the routine 20 week scan you are going for where they check the baby's anatomy??? I would be curious to know... keep me posted. After everything we went through so far, my DH and I have googled this to death. But its true... we turned down the testing with previous pregnancies so we wouldn't have to deal with any stress. This time, I was told to get it done as I am now over 35.

hmm... now i am confused. They said it's a level II u/s where they are going to check the baby's growth, organs, count the fingers, toes etc. and check for the s_x of the baby. I asked if they were going to do any other testing like for down syndrome and the doctor said that would be done only if the blood work comes out abnormal. As i am reading now, it does say it should be done between 10-13 weeks, so i guess i'm out of that window. But also, i am reading that they don't do screening tests for every single pregnancy and that the blood sample can determine if there's a risk of having a baby with down's syndrome. I heard that screening tests are only 60% accurate and have more chances of being wrong. When i talked to my doctor 4 weeks ago, she explained to me that it's only done when the blood sample shows some abnormalities. so i guess, i'll find out all the info next wednesday, as far as the growth and development of my baby. i'll definitelly keep you posted, since i am really curious to find out what's going on.

augustmommy-I'm totally sure that everything is fine, I don't think you should loose any sleep over it! Tuesday I will be 12 weeks so I'm going to get the triple screen. If your nuchal came back fine I'm sure you are perfectly fine! Did you call the doctor about your blood work? I would call.

augustmommy3 - March 12

I'll just wait until my appointment next week. It's not like i can change anything, i'll just stay stress free for now :)

JMP - March 13

your the best ! LOL I know my BF wishes I was more like that! My appointment is on Tuesday and it's just going by so so so slow!! =/

augustmommy3 - March 13

LOL :) Time has been going so fast for me, it's crazy! i wont even notice how august comes and the baby will be ready to come out :) That is, i imagine, will be one of the times where i am really going to panic and drive everyone crazy!

JMP - March 13

I'm sure everything is fine! I'll be three monthes on Monday and I'm just wishing time would go a little faster lol..I'm suffering from lots of headaches now maybe because I'm so nervous/excited for seeing the baby on tuesday! yay! when did you guys get bellys? I'm pretty glad I have the nuchal on Tuesday because I'm pretty sure you can tell I'm totally pregnant!

augustmommy3 - March 14

i could probably still jump on runway, suck in some air and get a pretty good bikini shot LOL my belly started growing 3 weeks ago, it's so tiny, my friends are starting to question wether i'm pregnant! haha :) seriously, it gets a little bigger at times but probably cause i just eat, it looks more like a beer gut than a baby belly. I don't think i will need any maternity clothes!

JMP - March 14

Maternity clothes wow I'm pretty sure I started wearing them at like 6 weeks the bloating was unbearable! I'm still very bloated..I can't tell if it's the baby or me being bloated! (of course I'd like to think it's the baby) lol..I kind of just feel in between because I never had morning sickness so sometimes I feel pregnant and sometimes I totally forget! LOL I hope thats normal!
