Fetal Movement Slower At 26 Weeks

I am having baby number 4 after 11 years! LOL With my first child I went to the docters in a panic several times over the last month because there was no movement from her at all for over 24 hours, with my next child she moved all the time and my third child was steady movement but not a lot. With this one I have felt more movement than I remember with any other baby. So first thing to remember is all babies are different. Your baby does go through amazing growth spurts and will sleep a lot during those times, and if you feel at least 3 movements in a 24 hour perioed everything is ok. But finally if you are worried pop in to see you docter and listen to your babys heart beat so you can relax. Thats what you pay the docter for and having peace of mind during your pregnancy experience is more important than anything else! Good Luck everyone!

Emma, I had the same problem yesterday. I too am a little over 26 weeks and I called my doctor's office. They had me come in and they did an ultrasound. Everything was fine. My doctor said that babies go through sleep cycles and as time increases they run out of room to move around. ANyway, don't panic. But, if you'd feel better, call your doctor, that's why they are there. Hope this helps.

I ma 27 weeks pregnant...my first. My little girl has really quieted down over the past couple weeks (she still has moments where I get hard kicks) My doctor also told me that if you do not feel movement for a couple days it could mean the baby turned around and is kicking towards the spine instead.

im 26 weeks pregnant as well but remember that your baby grows each and every day so simply its just running out of wiggle room. its normal, but if youre still worried talk to your doctor.

Im a litle over 26 weeks as well and noticed the movements have slowed a bit. they went from consistant violent kicks to occasional dull thuds. I am hoping its cause theres less room in there so he cant really give sharp kicks? what does everyone else think?

how many weeks do you have to be to find out youre pregnant

i am too experiencing the same thing. but with previous pregnancies the babies seemed to have moved much more during this time. may just depends on position of baby because seems that im carrying a little lower than usual

I am excited to find this site. I have been wondering the same thing. My baby boy has slowed done a lot in the past week. I am also 26 weeks pregnant. It is comforting to know that this is normal.

I have read that the bigger the baby gets (e.g. the futher along you are) the less frequent/noticeable the movements are becsue s/he has less room to move. Unfortunately, I am not sure when the movements start to decrease, but it is in the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book, if you have it.

i have 2 other children(boys) and i didnt feel them move very much untill the last 2 months of my pregnancy now 25 weeks pregnant with my little girl i only felt small flutters till now and she doesnt move until i eat and im laying down afterwards... then thats when i get the biggest kicks and flips (just a little thanks for the food mom!) i really dont worry as long as there is SOME kind of movement at SOME point in the day...every pregnancy is different as is every woman but a quick call to the doctor can be very rea__suring take care and dont stress it only makes things worse.... find a hobby lol...god bless

yes its normal your baby is just getting bigger and the baby is running out of room..so everything is normal...do worry

Chrysti - July 21

Yes, it's completley normal for your baby not to move very much when you get farther along. There isn't much room for your little one to move around, so they find a comfortable spot and stay there. Baby is fine, don't worry. If you are still worried, drink a full gla__s of water and lay on your left side for 20-30 mins.

i am 25 weeks pregnant andI got a little worried when i only felt my baby move three times in the entire day. I was so afraid that I went to the hospital and I just made it back. At first they couldn't find her heartbeat but finally they did. I was still worried because usually she kicks the c___p out of the doppler but she didn't. The minute the nurse left us alone she started to move like crazy. A tear ran down my face. You can't imagine the feeling of joy and relief that came over me. The first thing I said was THANK YOU JESUS.

You know, I posted on this when I was 23 weeks pregnant and now my boy is 7 months!!! I was worried about his movement at the time like everyone else, but I want to let everyone know that even though my situation ended up getting worse ( I had to have non stress tests 3 times a week for the last 12 weeks) in the end every thing was ok. So hang in there!! Be calm and patient and you and your baby WILL be fine.
