I have had a LEEP procedure. It was about 4 years ago. I'm 21 weeks into first pregnancy no problems and my Doc says there is nothing to worry about since my paps have all been normal since then. Good Luck.

What is a LEEP procedure? Just curious?

A LEEP is a procedure that removes part of the cervix due to precancerous cells or abnormal cells.

I went to the doctor today to have my cervical length checked and it went from 3.4 to 2.8 in 4 weeks. I don't see my dr. until next Tues. Is that length ok??? I'm starting to freak out!!! The u/s tech said that the doctor likes to see the length at 3.0 or better throughout the whole pregnancy. I'm scared.

I would call your doctor and ask him. I'm not sure if that length is O.K., I'm 17 weeks and I got mine checked the other day and it was 3.1 if I remember correctly. Don't freak out, just call and tell them you want to speak to your doc, I do it all the time

Ok, here's an update on me...I got out of the hopital today and am on COMPLETE bedrest. My cervix last friday was 2.8 and today this did another u/s and it's 2.1 and the doctor did a pelvic exam and I'm 50% effaced at only 25.5 weeks. :S I had to get steroid shots to help the babies lungs because they expect me to go into pre-term labor. They said that right now they would like to keep the baby in 10 more weeks at the least. They are not sure how fast my cervix is changing so I have to go back for exams every week from here on out. I sure hope everything turns out fine. :S Say lots of prayers for me.

I had a LEEP procedure 10 years ago and have failed miserably at getting pregnant....anyone else have this problem?

This post is old, but I had a LOOP done (that's before LEEP) about 11 years ago. I had the LEEP done (because the cancerous cells returned) about 4 years ago. I got PG and the doctor had to put a band on my cervix to keep the baby from "falling out" so to speak. it's more of a safety measure. I would highly recommend it if anyone is nervous about it. As far as conceiving, I had a LOT taking out the first time (as the docs here took out more than necessary "just in case") and now I'm PG with my second and had the procedure again.
