Hi ladies,
Tracy - no I haven't had any scans yet, my midwife is very relaxed, my first appointment wasn't till 8 weeks, and we heard the heart beat nice and strong at 12 weeks. If in normal checks nothing shows up to concern her, or I'm not feeling abnormaly poorly, me and my baby are a__sumed to be doing just fine. Also I know a freind of mine has had only one Ultrasound so it might be something in our healthcare in my province where they only cover one scan under normal circ_mstances. i know what you mean about things seeming at a standstill sometimes..I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow, but then I remember I have at least 20 weeks still to go.. it is nice to feel the baby so much though, sometimes there is a fluttering kind of idea.. but it's solid... really exactly like a very real but small person just rolled over. mostly it's the kicking I feel, like the other day when I swear the baby kicked backwards into my back... or liver or something. the wierdest sensation!
my mother said she found that how my siblings and i moved really corresponded with our personalities - my get up and go sister moved a LOT and I was felt maybe once or twice a day.. hence, I'm a quieter person.
RC your reference to your tan lines was funny to me, I had to remember it's summer where you are hey? I haven't seen a beach in months, on the west coast of Canada we've been getting an abnormal amount of snow, so although I like to walk for exercise it involves many layers of clothing and preperation to do so. also mincing steps so I don't fall.
I get conflicting reports about the exercise.. first everyone says to do it, all the books.. but then not to exercise till out of breath or tired.. but If I don't get out of breath I don't feel like I've exercised at all. I've been doing some stretches at home and trying to walk, although this often ends up being limited to weekends as working full time really saps my energy by nightfall. I'd like to try more water exercise as I've heard its' good.. but again.. time issues. this is too long,
talk to you all later

Hey girlies,
How have you all been feeling? I've noticed none of you have been on lately hope that mean's your all ok and just busy :)
RC I had to laugh at the story about your bikini, I tell you I haven't exactly got a small chest but Scott has already commented on there growth....So I can defo sympathise with you there!!! Well that's me 18wks this week and I'll tell you my bump is small but to me very noticible. No one at work knows yet apart from my boss as she asked me to keep quiet about it just now, but it won;t be long before everyone knows thats for sure!!!!!!
Scott is back to work today, after being off all last week with the cold. He has also given his folks the cold and therefore never told them about the baby at the weekend!!! God id he doesn't tell them soon the baby will be here and they still won't know!!!!!!
I still don't think I have felf the baby move?!?!?! But I'm not sure keep gettin this really tight feeling in my tummy doesnt last long but it's strange. Also think i have felt a turning over feelin in my tummy but it's very faint???
Anyways girls hope your all doing fine......speak soon xx

Hey...I'm still here. Was just waiting for someone else to post so I wasn't talkiing to myself hahha. Iin answer to your q about ultra sounds, I had one at 7 weeks b/c of the ivf (very common place) but haven't had one since. At that point the baby was only 9mm long and had a hb of 150. So I didn't even see anything but a black dot which was baby and then a flshing light type dot which was the heart. It was super cool nonetheless though! Now I won't be having one till 20w but I can wait cuz its with my ivf doc who is absolutely amazing and knows everything. I'd rather he do it than some tech who doesn't know anything about me and isn't as good as my doc. So I'm waiting 3 more weeks.
As for movement. I'm not sure if I've felt baby or if its just me. The feelings are more like b___terflies fluttering at first b.c baby is still so small. The turning feeling you felt was more than likely the baby though. They still have loads of room in there to swim around in!
I've had 3 people now ask me if I'm pg. The first two werent until 3 days ago so I think I'm finally popped out enough that its getting noticeable to people who don't know. I'm a week behind you tracy. Due on June 22 but this is my 4th so...with my 1st I didn't start to show till halfway.
I wonder where everyone else is? Well, I've been keeping busy lately with work. It's only a casual job so every week changes. This week I've got 4 days. Ok, see ya girls!

Hi ladies, I'm still here too. I dont' have internet on weekends so i check out during that time, and yesterday i hadn't much to say but I knew if I came on today I could tell you all about my ultrasound!
They give all these rules about drinking lots and not voiding for 3 hours and such, cus you need a full bladder... well I was warned so I knew not to go by their insane regulations, AND I did a urine check at the lab this morning too so I had less time to "fill up" and i was still SO uncomfortable the whole time!! I drank a cup of tea and some juice between an hour and a half to a half hour before whereas they say 4 cups and no voiding for 3 hours... which i think is insane! I would have exploded.
Other than that, at first it was really rather boring just lying there on the table while she took all her necessary pictures. Than my husband could come in and she showed us baby, altough i'd been sneaking peaks before too. It was so neat to see how the little one was lying in there and the tiny fingers and hands waving and the toes kicking. I noticed that where the feet were in my belly I had been feeling very distinct kicks in that spot whenever she would press her wand in to take a better look at that spot. babe seemed to be trying to investigate this foreign protrusion into his home. It was cute :) our baby is very active! my DH got to see/hear the heartbeat too which he hasn't yet, and we got our pictures, in one I think the baby is staring straight at the camera, I can see the nose and eyes looking at me.
We had chosen not to ask about the s_x but the technician muttered to herself while she worked and then when she was showing us the baby as well, she kept saying 'he'. there are 'his' feet, there is 'his' head. I dont' know if maybe she is trained to just say that cus it's easier than saying 'it' all the time.. or if she saw something.. once when the little legs were kicking I thought I could see... but then again, I'm not sure. maybe she calls all the babies 'he' out of habit. It'll still be a surprise as i was really beginning to think it was a girl but now, not so sure.
I went to work right after so I cant' wait to head home and ask my husband how he felt, if it made the baby more real to him or not. It's harder for him to grasp the concept of 'baby' when his belly isn't the one being kicked and stretched as it grows.
Oh, RC yes I'm in vancouver, surrey actually. so after the cariboo you went to Aus? you've been around the world a bit hey!
Talk to you all later!

Hey ladies I'm still here too and I also had my 20 wk U/S. I already knew it was a boy, because my moms friend did a free scan for me to find out the gender on X-mas morning (midnight). But it was still exciting, the center we went to has two screens one for the tech and one for us. So my husband was able to be there for the entire scan. Still no sickness for me whoo hoo and my sister just asked if she could throw me a shower in Mid April. Some people say (I read) that I shouldn't have a shower because this is baby number five (g,b,g,g, and now b). But I only had one for my 3rd kid 5yrs ago and that was a girl. And this will be my 1st for a boy. Well what do you all think and what do u think of the names Tyshawn John (my choice)or just Ty John(husbands choice) last name 2 syllables(sp). Untill next time

rcmiller,,so sweet of u to ask about me!! thanks dear :) since a week ago i've been feeling great! finally about time!!! im 17 weeks today and so excited as if this was my first baby :) i have started to feel the moves of my baby too around a week ago, i feel them more at night while im trying to get some sleep :) so cute and so light though.. nothing so strong yet.. i havent gone shopping for blue yet.. im taking it easy this time lol
im glad u had fun time at the pool and ur working out!!! i cant do either cz of what had happened to me earlier in this pregnancy but this sounds fun :D just take it easy with ur cardio, and hope everything goes great!! :)
tracy,, the tight feeling in ur tummy is braxton hicks i should guess!! i have been feeling this too for about few days now but i was worried cz i dont remember i felt them that early with my dd!!
corey, we prefer long names so i should go with the name u had picked :) but u can always use the short name ur husband picked as a nickname probably?! nice name :) a baby shower is so exciting! i think every baby should have a baby shower cz each one is special in his own way.. im not sure what i will need other than clothes for this baby cz i have everything from my dd.. the only change would be clothes colors! so i wont be shoppingmuch for clothes cz if ppl ask what i need, i have nothing to ask for except for boy outfits!

Hi Girls, I'm back...I have the day off today. I've been working flat out ever since last Thurs or Friday...can't remember now. The days are all sort of mushing together! Well, I'm happy to be at home today. Just wanna chill and be a mom today. I had a split shift yesterday and in between took the kids to the beach wearing what? Well, my too small bikini of course! If I could afford a new one I would get it for sure! I've been kind of anxious about the baby lately. Wondering the usual things us moms to be wonder about. Is the baby still alive? What if I've done something to harm the baby? (I drank an energy drink out of desperation last saturday and have been worried ever since) I had felt little things that I was wondering if they were baby or not and then wasn't feeling them AT ALL for a week or so. Well, last night I felt 2 movements that I'm 90% sure were him and so feel somewhat better now. But I tell ya, I can't WAIT till my next prenatal and then the scan.
Korey-I think if your sister wants to throw you one then go for it! I mean, it's not like you're askiing for it or anything. Ad besides, I know in the past that was the way baby showers were done. Only the first child and all that, but times have changed and I know personally that we women just love to have a chance to get together and have a party so we find every good excuse to do so! You let her have that shower for you.
Starlight-glad you're back. We all need and want the communication so I reckon if we all keep checking in and just say what we've been up to then it'll be great! Yay!
Lucy-how many children do you have right now? I'm glad you're feeling swell. I do sometimes but most of the time just feel like I'm not myself. Heck I still don't even like to eat sweets! Cookoo!
Tracy- Have the in laws found out yet? Do tell...
Have fun being preggers everyone!

Hi everyone,
I'm 20 weeks today, that's half way!!! Yay! had a really nasty headache last night, and didn't feel like making dinner. I feel good mostly but some days are just rough. Sleeping is increasingly uncomfy too. I have a body pillow which is my favorite friend, but one night my shoulder was all sore after sleeping on my side all night, so I try to be careful how i position myself, and I worry if I'm anywhere near my back cus of those bloodvessels they talk about... even though I'm not really all that big.
Korey, if they're throwing the shower have it! It'll be a nice thing for your baby and you, something to make his arrival feel as special and new as the first time. and for a child coming into a family with older siblings, it'll be nice for him to have some new things all his own.. although maybe he won't really care at this point ;P
Gotta go home, starlight let us knwo about the U/S :)

I'm so excited cuz yesterday I got myself THE most comfy pair of pants ever. You know when you try on a pair of pants and immediately you say, 'oh my gosh these are perfect I am definetly getting these!' Well, that's happened to me like once before and yesterday it happened again. They were only $20 too! Which of course is why I tried them on in the first place. They are flyless and just have this band that's like a maternity band and stretchy enough that I'll be able to wear them for a while yet. I had put on a pair of my all time favorite capri's I got from Ross a few years back and managed to get them done up but the b___ton and fly are like digging in to my groin so I was looking for a bella band when I came across these pants I ended up getting yesterday. I also got another pair of capris for only $8 that are too big for me to wear right now but I am thinking another couple months and they should be just about right.
Anyways, that's my exciting news. I'll be 18 wks in a couple days. My 12 y.o. daughter has been in Canada for the last 7 weeks and will be coming back in a week! She spent the holidays with her dad.
Lucy - nacho's sound AWESOME to me right now. I have been wanting pasta. Had it 3 nights in a row actually. I also have been wanting potato salad and actually bought some yesterday which I never do. I always make it but who has the energy to do that??? Do you LIVE in Dubai? Wow that's cool...is that where baby will be born? What kind of people live in Dubai? What are they called, Dubains? Are most people that live there from somewhere else and just come there to make money? I think I shall research Dubai on the computer....
Ciao ladies...workiing today.

yay rcmiller im glad u got to have comfy clothes at such a good price!! congrats! :D im wearing my maternity pair of jeans that i bought when i was preggo with dd.. so far i like them cz they are comfy for my little bump.. i remember i wore them up till around 25 weeks so i've got time to switch to the bigger size i have ;p i dont think im gonna buy anything for me now.. better wait maybe, who knows :p
yeah pasta is great for me too.. just plain white pasta with some mozarella cheese on top and this would be amazing hehe.. strange!
lol i laughed ALOT when i read ur comment about Dubai that ppl come here to make money :p well thats the known trend for the past couple of yrs and thats why my parents came here in the early 1980s..but now its SO expensive and we have to be thankful if we can afford paying rent and eat.. its becoming crazy in here and im hating it.. i was born here actually and so was my dd.. im not from Dubai but i only live here.. yeah Dubai ppl are called Dubaians but mainly they are called Emiratis cz its the United Arab Emirates.. and Dubai is one of the 7 Emirates :) u should come here for a visit after the baby is born.. u'll enjoy it :) but plz dont come in summer, its boiling :p most ppl escape during summer and go to their home countries.. local ppl are a small proportion compared to ppl who come from different places to work here.. u wanna guess where i come from? im not american btw.. but i had visited the states in the 1995 and had a blast!! my parents go there every year though cz they hold the american greencard.. and they LOVE the country.. although its the states, but living there is much more easier than the hectic life in here.. maybe that depends on where u r right? im not so sure.. they go to Ohio cincinatti..we have most of our friends in there :)
that was looooong.. sorry :) btw rc, when is ur due date? we seem to be so close.. mine is 26/6/2009,, dd was a week early though so we'll see :) hope ur dd arrives safely! i bet u miss her a lot :) take care dear

I had a chicken sandwich for breakfast. I think I'll make a potatoe salad today. I get into these funks and want something for several days in a row. We had pasta with red sauce 3 nights in a row. Before that we had curry 3 nights in a row. Now if I make potatoe salad today we will have that 3 nights in a row! hahaha I'm crazy!
Ok Lucy I have gone back and looked for clues as to where you could be from. My best guess is South Africa. You say alot of words like toilet, dear, sweetie, cz for because, u and ur, you abbreviate like crazy and I have a neighbour who is from S. Africa and that's what she does and says. But if I'm wrong just tell me and give me another clue! I like this guessing business. I guessed where Tracy was from!
Oh, another thing I've just bought are sugar snap peas. OMGosh how yummy and fresh are they!

Ok Lucy, I've got my globe out...I'm such a moron I don't even know where Dubai is on the globe! I wonder if I should know? So I'm googling it right now...Ok, I'm thinking you're insane to be so cold the other day! I just googled it and the avg high in jan/dec is 24-26 degrees! and that is your cold season! Yikes. Lowest ever record temp is only 7 degrees. That's shocking! Well, its quite interesting looking this stuff up anyways. So I'm gonna guess India? If that's not right then tell me what your maiden name is and I'll probably guess it for sure!
AFM-I just got back from the gym doing 50 min of cardio. Now I feel good and have to go to a mtg. 7:30am!
Tracey?? Where are you? What's going on?
Overtaken-any new news with you?
Anyone else I've forgotten in my rush? Come tell us what's up!
