No, they haven't scheduled my c-section yet, if it's anything like my first pregnancy, my doctor will wait to schedule it until about a month untli my due date and that it will be like 3 days before. It kind of bothers me that she waits that long, I might as at my next appointment to see when they will schedule it, but I think the reason she waits is in case something happens between now and then that way nobody has to cancel anything. I am still going by what my grandma said...that I will have the baby by July 21. Amylea, congratulations on the little boy!!!! I wouldn't worry about him measuring big, some babies measure big, some measure small. They just grow a little differently. My doctor told me at my last appointment that the right side of my uterus was measuring bigger than the left side, she wasn't worried about it, but I think its cause "baby lumpy" hangs out over there more. My daughter always measured smaller than what she was supposed to. Have fun decorating and planning for a little boy. I can't wait to find out if Lumpy is a boy or a girl so I can start getting things. Ohh, in case you were wondering, we call our baby "Lumpy"....just a little nickname the baby was given.

Also, ladies, i was wondering if any of you have been sick? Not morning sickness, like flue or bad cold with a fever sick? I got sick starting last friday and still am feeling sorta c___ppy. I think it is finally going away... I had a really bad sore throat, fever body aches, chills, headaches, the works... it's aweful! I probably would have gone to the dr thinking strep but this bug is going around (school, teacher) and it's not strep, just something that sort of mimics strep. It sucks. :( The worst part is not being able to sleep, going from burning up to freezing and head pounding... sorry to complain just ready to be done with this... Anyone have an idea about when I should call my doc if it doesn't get better? 4 days? 5? a week? Thanks!

Andesue, I've noticed the past few days (3 or 4) I have woken up with a sore throat, stuffy nose, coughing and hot flashes. I have had hot flashes for about 2 months now, but normally they are only at night, but the past few days I go from being hot to cold in a matter or minutes. I think it's because the weather here has been crazy...snowy one day and in the upper 50s the next, then back down to the 30s. Of course it's really messing with me though because I was just starting to get energy back and now I'm losing it again because of this cold. I would say if its been about 5 days to call your doc and tell them about it and see what they say. Don't be sorry about complaining to us, we're all in this together and there will be plenty of times that each of us have to have somebody to talk to that isn't really in our personal everyday lives, somebody outside of the situation. Or maybe we just need somebody that understands what we're going through and listens. I did have a question though for all of the ladies...if you don't mind answering that is. How much weight have you gained so far in the pregnancy? I'm a little overweight and so far I've only gained about 2 pounds, but I would have thought it would have been like 10 by now. I look like I've gained 10 pounds at least, I look like I'm almost 6 months. A friend told me that the body is using the extra weight for the baby first...and I'm not complaining as long as I lose it after I have the baby.

Anyone having feet swelling or calf swelling? My left foot seems to be worse. It just feels really sore and kind of burning.

IsabellasMommy - February 17

My legs and feet swell all of the time, my doctor checks at every visit. She has told me limit the salt intake, drink plenty of water and if you stand on your feet all day for work that could be why. If you have a sit down job, find something to prop your feet up a little. I can't wait until warmer weather so that I don't have to worry about wearing socks...I notice when I wear them, they tend to cut into my ankles and it hurts even though my socks are really loose when I put them on. I hate socks...warm weather can't come soon enough.

amylea22 - February 17

I agree, and I do sit down pretty much all day fo my job so I do have to get up at least once every hour and prop my feet up. Thanks for the input.

I was also a little heavier to start this pregnancy, since I didn't lose the weight from DD2. I have only gained maybe 3 lbs so far, and my doc is not in the least concerned. The weight I gained has also just started in the last few weeks. The first 3 months I lost weight. I then gained the weight back that I lost, plus the 3 lbs. Make sense?? Preggo brain muddles my thoughts sometimes! LOL... As far as swelling goes, not yet (knock on wood). With DD2 I sometimes gained more than 5lbs in a week from water weight. But that was in the last month and it was summer. I also sit at my job all day. Bathroom trips help get me moving, but I also try to prop up my legs at my desk. Amy... congrats on a cooperative and healthy baby boy! Two weeks two days til I know!

IsabellasMommy - February 17

Babyblue, I understand what you mean about losing and then gaining it back plus 3. That's what happened with me for my daughter...I lost 11 and then gained it back plus 14 for the entire pregnancy. My apet_te comes and goes with this pregnancy, but within the past few weeks it's gotten better, I would just have a__sumed that I gained more than what I did. So far only 2 pounds...not that I'm complaining, just worried I guess.

Thanks Isabellasmommy! I think I went all day yesterday without a fever and this morning my head hurts less than yesterday so I think I'm improving. :) My throat is still really gross looking and feeling so I think I might just call my brother who's a doctor and ask him about that since it's not really pregnancy related. :) Nice to have him around! As for weight gain, I was just a little overweight when I got pregnant and have only gained 2 lbs also. The only place it shows is in my belly. My midwife asked if I have been eating when she weighed me and I said yes so she said good, I'm sure you'll gain just fine later. :) I think you don't really need to gain much in the first part of the pregnancy unless you are pretty little to start with. And as for swelling.. I don't have any swelling yet. I did read that getting alittle bit of excersize each day will help with that. I know it's the last thing I really want to do most of the time but even just a walk with a friend. Get's the blood moving which helps get rid of the excess water too.

Andesue, how are you feeling today? Better I hope. I'm feeling ok I guess. I've had a migraine for about 24 hours and it's slowly going away now. I am afraid to take anything at all, even the approved medicines. I was thinking about taking some of my daughters childrens tylenol because if kids can take it, it shouldn't hurt the baby, right??? I was wondering if anybody else was getting really bad gas pains? I have had gas almost the entire pregnancy, but never had gas pains at all. My boyfriend woke me up when he got home from work the other night and I had this shooting pain in my stomach. He was worried and kept asking if something was wrong, if I was cramping, or if it was the baby and I just wanted to laugh, but couldn't. When I told him what was wrong, he laughed and told me that it was just shooting gas pains (which really was new to me). He thought it was so amusing and told me to put vaseline on my b___t and it would help. Yeah...he was being serious! LOL Just wanted to see if I was the only one with gas pains.

andesue - February 19

Isabella'smommy- I'm sorry about the migrain, those are not fun, i get them too. I am certain that tylenol is ok to take during pregnancy though I have heard to only take 500mg per dose/6 hrs. That and sleep and stretching my neck helps my migrains. Hope you are feeling better. I am doing ok. I got better for a couple days and now I feel c___ppy again. My throat never stopped hurting but I haven't had a fever since Sunday night. My throat is more sore now than it has been the last two days so I hope this isn't continuing or it is something else that I've got back to back with the other thing! ugh! i don't know if that even made sense... :( If I get a fever again or if the sore throat persists tomorrow without improving I might have to call the dr. and go make sure it's not strep throat. Wish me luck. :)

IsabellasMommy - February 20

Andesue, good luck. I hope that your sore throat goes away and that you feel better soon. My migraine finally went away late last night. I did feel the baby move from the outside last night and so did my boyfriend. It was really light, but we felt it!! It was exciting, I keep telling him to wait until it starts to hurt me because he would really feel it then.

Hi everyone... my computer has been down for the last few days and I have felt sooo lost without it! Hope everyone is feeling better. I get migraines too (had one a couple of weeks ago), so I know what thats like. I am also too stubborn to take anything, so I end up sleeping with ice packs on my head. That helps. I was told to soak my feet in hot water on the onset of the headache. Since I got the advice too late this time, will have to try it with the next one. Supposedly, it opens up your arteries and takes away some of the pressure that causes the headache. I have also had a mult_tude of colds and such this time around. I am just getting over a minor cold, but have also had a slight cough. I understand about the gas pains to... sheesh... I'm beginning to sound like a hypochondriac!! LOL... But I haven't had them since the first couple of months of pregnancy. I still haven't been able to feel much movement from the baby. Only once every few days I 'think' I have felt something. This one is really makin me wait!

IsabellasMommy - February 22

Babyblue, glad that you're back! I know what you mean about feeling lost without the computer. I would go crazy without mine, my boyfriend works evenings and doesn't get home until really late and my daughter goes to bed and then it's just me...and I get pretty bored by myself. My cravings are getting the best of me. Potatoes, pickles, raw veggies....mmmmm Just thinking about it makes me want them. Are you ladies craving anything? I'm hoping all of you start to feel your LOs everyday starting very soon. Mine is kind of active right now.

babyblue2 - February 23

Isabellasmommy - at least you are craving healthy stuff!! LOL... I say go for it! My baby does not seem to like sweets very much, which works in my favour. However, I seem to be craving salty stuff, so I have to be careful not to devour a bag of chips in a sinlge sittling. Other than that... hmmm... some fruit, banana milkshakes, and artichokes (which sucks since they are out of season and I cant find the fresh ones ANYWHERE!)... This morning I was laying on my back in bed trying to wake up. My hand was on my tummy and I actually felt the baby kick from the outside! Was great, since I told you I barely feel him/her on the inside yet. Hopefully, I will start to feel it more often, since it is such a rea__surance. 9 days and counting til the ultrasound!! Yippee!! :)
