Hey Girlies. So Dawn, I really like Breeze as a second middle name. It sounds really good together. And I know what you all mean about waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep. This morning I actually woke up at 4 to pee, but it was like the most intense urge to pee ever, and then at 6:30 some stupid car alarm was going on outside for 20 freekin minutes. After that I was up. And I was wondering when we're moving over to the third tri board too? You know what though, there is this post on the third tri board that really upset me this morning. Someone was asking about fetal movement and the post was like 3 years old, and some lady went on there and reopened the post and said that her baby was moving around alot and there was a cord accident and her baby died. Like us pregnant women don't worry enough. I feel sorry for that lady that she had to go through that, but there really isn't a reason to be telling pregnant women about it and scaring them more. So now I'm nervous if he's moving AND if he's not moving! My mom was trying to tell me how that is such a freak thing that occurs and blah blah blah, but I'm still scared. I'm gonna research it now. And I'm gonna have a tuna fish sandwich today, I know I'm not supposed to have it, but I haven't had any the entire pregnancy and I have a craving.

why are you not supposed to have it? first they use to say not to eat tuna, but then they said to eat some at least once a week to get the omega stuff i think it was. i use to have a sandwich once a week. yumm. my stupid dog was pulling on a patio chair and you could hear the noise while im trying to fall back asleep after hubby left to work at 4 and i finally got up and yelled at him. that story is scary, why would you dig up an old post just to put something freaky on it. you got me thinking now too.

hey, tuna is ok to eat in moderation - I think it's 6 ounces a week. It has to do with the mercury that can acc_mulate in tuna as with some other fish. My friend is over a week overdue right now and she keeps asking me how much my dd moved near the end because she is freaked out about the cord thing too - I just figure if it's going to happen I can't stop it - worrying isn't going to change things for me so .... I try not to think about it. Just keep track of his movements. Last night I made my dh switch sides of the bed with me to see if I slept any better and I did! I was up late, midnight, but then I slept straight till 5am without moving! It was awesome. Then I had to pee but I did get back to sleep pretty quick - but my dd decided to wake up at 7 - an hour earlier than normal. grr!I have to take the glucose test today - fun fun fun!

hello girls.... so other than the sleep issue all of you are doing well? i can imagine the frustration you girls that have to see 'group doctors' must be having... argh that would tick me off too, Kay... what a jerk! but like you said at least you have your u/s soon and as long as you feel your baby everyday everything will be okay. wow dawn! you have been a busy girl. the price on the carpet sounds like a screaming deal! ooohh how i would love to get new carpet in my house! i priced it out and we have a two story 4 bedroom and 3 bath house and they said it was gonna cost me $8000... i probably picked out the most expensive carpet though! lol hmmm..... where's christie??? i wanted to hear how the concert was? so i've been pretty busy these past couple of days... i've started crow potty training and what a chore! man oh man he doesn't want to grow up... it was a pain in the booty when he gave up his bottle and now we are struggling with the potty training... we are making steady progress though! yay! so i have my level 2 u/s scan on thursday and then possibly the amnio if they see something wonky.... so my fingers are crossed that everything looks okay. then on friday and saturday taylor has three choir performances.. called 'curtain up'... it's the big show of the year so it should be good. and omg my ribs have been killing me!! well i've gotta run and put crow on the potty................:o)

Potty training huh?? good luck. How exciting about the choir, its good that she's involved in that. These past two days have been slow. Have any of you gotten Braxton Hicks contractions? what do they feel like?

Sorry girls, I didn't mean to scare you with telling you about that post on the third tri board. It just freaked me out. Oh and I read somewhere about the tuna fish, but I just called my mom who is a registered dietician and she was like Gab, why do you beleive everything you read? Tuna is safe 2-3 times a week. So I think I need to just shutup until i get my facts straight, haha.

You know what, I think I got Braxton Hicks this morning. I'm not too sure what they feel like either, but I was at school and I had to kinda run/jog across the street because the light was changing and it felt like my stomach was getting hard then loose and over and over for like 5 minutes. It didn't hurt or anything, just kind of uncomfortable. Is that BH?

Yeah potty training boys is by far harder than girls!!! at least this little guy is... he is so stubborn! hahaha so yeah i really like that taylor is in choir ... it's fun and she really enjoys it. after the 'curtain up' performances they plan on going on their yearly trip to disneyland (april 2nd-5th) and they get a personal training session with a professional music director of some kind and they get to go see a musical performance called 'wicked' this time at the pantages theater which is super cool. she won't be doing choir next year so she is enjoying this year to the fullest. speaking of bh contractions ... yes i have been getting them alot ... but i always got them with the other babies ... i think that is why i have such intense and quick labors.... so it sounds to me gabby like you had some bh contractions today! You Ma???

Hey gabbers, I'll clear some things up for you on cord accidents because they can sound really scary if you don't know the facts about them. I've become a self proclaimed expert on them lol and I've even consulted with the leading researcher in the country on cord abnormalities about my situation. A baby does NOT just die from a cord knot or the cord being wrapped around them. A lot of people worry about the cord being wrapped around the babies neck which occurs in 20% of pregnancies and is totally normal because they worry the cord is going to 'choke' the baby........a baby doesn't breathe in uetero, it's oxygen comes from the cord. The cord would have to be pulled or compressed so tight that it completely cuts off the cord blood flow ie, oxygen, blood, and nutrients to the baby. It is a very slooooow process (not something that happens in a matter of minutes) usually between 8 days and 3 weeks. During that time your babies movement would become little to none because they stop moving as a natural instinct to conserve energy, nutrients, and oxygen. There are some circ_mstances where it could cause hyperactivity, but the movement would be spastic, like you're baby was trying to break free from your stomach......it wouldn't be normal movement at all. Usually it's decreased or diminished movement that signals fetal distress. Cord accidents aren't common and most can be prevented simply by mom being intune with her babies movementss. At 28 weeks you should be able to do kick counts, where you lay on your left side and count your babies movements. You can stop once you feel 10 rolls, kicks, punches, any movement at all counts and you should be able to get 10 within an hour. I usually have it done within 10 minutes lol and you can do those once in the morning and once at night. Still sounds scary I'm sure, but I just wanted to let you know it's not something that happens spontaniously.

Ok now that I'm done writing my term paper post on umbilical cords LOL I have a hard time now telling if I'm having BH or not. My son pushes outward sometimes which causes the same type of pressure as BH. My doctor did say my nst showed some cramping.......I'm a__suming by cramping he meant bh and not actual contractions. I have appointments every Monday, I have 3 weeks of NST's then on the 4th week I have an ultrasound.....which I get this Monday :D hmmm my stomach is actually tightening now haha it's a LOT worse if I have to pee at all. Sorry tmi

No tingling, but they do leak if I squeeze them. I just thank God they aren't as sore and sensitive as they were before.

Wow Kay thank you so much for all the info. I swear I'm one of those people that hears a story and then immediately freaks out. Before pregnancy I was on medicine for anxiety disorder so I relate it back to that. But I'm definitely one of those hypocondriac people that thinks that because it happened to someone else, it's gonna happen to me. But I have been monitoring my little guys movements alot and I'm pretty sure he's ok in there. Fred suggested we get a doppler if I'm that worried about it. But I don't know. I also asked my boss about, she's a doctor, and she was like why are you worrying about things like that. It's so rare, and you would notice the decrease in fetal activity long before the baby would actually suffer any real damage. So she made me feel alot better, which is not usual, she usually makes me feel worse. And those Braxton Hicks things are wierd, I get them when I walk too much or when I jump off the couch to beat the c___p out of one of my misbehaving dogs. Like my rottie is huge and he's still a puppy so I sometimes have to put him down on the ground, like a dominance thing, and it really makes my stomach tighten. The rottie is Fred's dog, so I somewhat resent him anyways. I didn't want to get a third dog, and it's funny but we actually found out we were preggo about 5 hours after we picked him up. Oh and when I was at work today I realized that I had stains all over the back of my shirt. So I'm like what the hell, did I sit in something or lean up against something? But get this I figured out that the stupid b___h that sits behind me in cla__s dropped her coffee and it splashed all over the back of my white shirt, and she didn't even have the decency to say sorry or even tell me about it. So I'm really p__sed and I'm gonna say something to her in cla__s on thursday. And I feel like a moron because I walked around all day with coffee splashed all over my back. Oh man, what a day!
