When does the third trimester start?

I was always told 27 weeks 1 day, but just recently I started my childbirth cla__s and the booklet we got says 29 weeks! I'd never heard that before...

Some more reading I did does seem to point to 27 weeks (your starting your 28 th week) is the start of the third tri.
