Hi all, I am 17 weeks now. Last week I had an u/s in which the Dr said everything is fine for the baby except the white spot (a tiny echogenic focus) identified near my baby's heart. However in the report it is mentioned that this is a fibrous deposition with no pathological significance. The Dr said there is nothing to worry about but we cannot help worrying. I read through the echogenic focus section of this site and it helped me to reduce my tension. Yesterday I gave my blood for triple test to confirm everything is normal and will get the result after one week. Crossing my fingers I am waiting for the result. Hope everyone else is doing good.

littlekmom - I am going to find out as soon as humanly possible :)
think- what exactly is a echogenic focus? If you were able to be calmed down by the stuff you found online, I am sure everything will be fine :)
Hope everyone is doing great. ANyone having any symptoms anymore? Or is everyone finally in that "honeymoon" phase of pregnancy?

Gaer - we found out one of the twins is a girl at our 13wk appointment (the other wasn't cooperating with the tech). I bet they can give you at least a good guess at your 15 week appt!
I think I am in the honeymoon phase right now - I have great energy spurts mixed in with lots of tiredness and hunger - although now I actually enjoy eating!
Think - I don't know what an echogenic focus is, but if they drs aren't concerned you should try not to worry too much. Remember that with ultrasounds we can dissect every little detail of our babies - and such close inspection is bound to find some "abnormality" or another. It sounds like this will not affect the health of your baby? Please keep us updated on how you are doing.

Ashly & mm - Echogenic focus is a small calcium deposit appears on the wall of the heart ventricle. It is also called as a small shadow appears during U/S. We can see this as a tiny white spot on the U/S image. Thanks for your support.

Hi Ladies.
Ashley2121-I still have no results on the whole chicken pox thing. My doctor's office told me the results are sent to public health and then forwarded to them, so it takes longer. They also said not to worry, that the risk to the baby is quite low if I am not immune, and I probably am immune. So for the time being I guess I have done what I can do for now and must continue to wait.
Gaer-I am huge too, but I was with my first two pregnancies as well. The first was a really big baby, and the second was elevated amniotic fluid levels. Lol, doctor said I had enough for all of the babies being born that day. Don't know the cause this time around yet.
My ultrasound isn't until June 15. I will be 17 weeks then, so we are hoping to find out the s_x.
I had a feeling the first two were boys, and sure enough. This time I haven't a clue, so maybe one of each? LOL.

It absolutely amazes me how much we can all have going on and all be just fine. So many risks and things to take into consideration when we are pregnant. All of us having the same experience yet totally unique to each other. Go figure.

think- I had a marker show up on my dd(20months) that was alarming, at least for me. She had a cyst in her brain. It freaked me out! They rescanned at 28 weeks and sure enough it was nothing but its a soft marker for downs and just plain freaked me out!!! Then, at the 28wk scan they said her brain was fine but she measured in the bottom 5th percentile so from there until she was born she had a NST every week and an ultrasound every two weeks. All turned out great and she was born healthy and of average size but all that stuff left me drained and a basket case. Sometimes all of these tests and scans pick up too much.....
littlekmom- so sorry you're still sick. I have good and bad days still.... but I'm only 13w 5d so I guess its still common.... wish I felt a little better though:)
My boss' sister had twins, a boy and a girl, and brought them into work today. They are 5 weeks old and that was so awesome! MM and Ashley you guys are gonna have a blast with your twins!!!! They are good babies and mom and dad are first time parents and they're loving it! Both said that being first time parents may have made it easier to have twins because they had no idea what one baby would require so to them twins wasn't hard at all:) Her original due date was yesterday......
Oh, and I went and bought a few more maternity clothes only to put on my new t-shirt and all of a sudden I don't really look preggo, just kinda frumpy..... gosh I can't wait until I look preggo and not just fat!!!

Hey everyone! Been a busy week, and I hadn't really had a chance to check in! I am 15 weeks 5 days today. Been feeling pretty good, the nausea is pretty much gone. Still have headaches, and really tired, but otherwise, not bad! We have our big ultrasound appt on June 22, but we are not finding out the s_x with this one, going to try to be surprised! It's going to be hard, but we think it will be fun!
Gloria- I know what you mean about looking fat and not preggo! I am definitely showing, but have only gained about 3-5 pounds so far. I had gotten rid of all of my maternity clothes, and then surprise, we got pg again! I am borrowing some from friends, and just went yesterday to pick up just a couple of things. I refuse to spend soo much money!!
Julie K- any more news about the chicken pox? Scary, but hopefully you will be just fine.
Has anyone felt the baby move yet? I felt a little fluttering the other day, but that's it so far! With both my other two, I felt them kick around week 17, so I am anxiously waiting!

I'm feeling and looking fat, but not prego too :-( I have found some great second hand stores with great maternity clothes. I refuse to spend a ton of money on clothes i won't wear for very long! I tried that Be Band and found it be very uncomfortable so i tried maternity pants with the narrower stretchy band and love them, so comfy! I'm 14 weeks today (yay!!!) and can't wait to actually look pregnant!!!!

I sure have popped! I'v got my little baby bump. I will be 14 weeks tomorrow and I swear yesterday I felt the fluttering in my stomach. It stopped me in my tracks and I told my hubby about it - it was very exciting because I know thats what it had to be :)
prayn-I found those Be Bands very uncomfortable too, I only wore it a couple of times before I couldnt take it any more. It was pressing too hard on my stomach and making me feel sick.
I hope everyone is doing good :)

Hi everyone, Hope all are doing good. I got my tirple test result yesterday. The calculated risk for any abnormality is very low. I am feeling more relaxed after seeing the result. Anyway crossing my fingers hoping for good only. Once again thanks to the support from all of you.

Hello! I thought I'd write in with my awful past few days:( I was having troubles with breathing, like I was short of breath and could barely get myself off the couch. I had heart surgery and a stroke in 2001 and have had issues in the past with my heart rate and palpitations and pregnancy just intensifies those things. Well, I couldn't take it anymore and went to the hospital on Sundy and they did a CT scan with dye to rule out a blood clot which is common when pregnant but I was okay. Baby just got its first dose of radiation..... Then after a full workup on my blood it turns out I am deficient on magnesium and pota__sium, which I guess when you've got tachycardia(heart rate irregularity) it intensifies it. I spent 6 hours on an IV drip getting the much needed electrolytes and was released early this morning. I have been so messed up! The drugs did their job but the side effect is nausea so now I feel like I'm back a month:( My heart/breathing are so much better but the nausea is just awful! This is supposed to be the honeymoon of the pregnancy so I'm feeling a little cheated right now..... I sure hope that this is the end of this type of problems for me....

GloriaD-I am SO sorry to hear about your ordeal. At least you got things under control. Did the drs give you something to stop the problem from happening again? I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes a lot smoother for you *HUGS*
