Is it normal to feel very short of breath whenyou first lay down or change positions. It takes me about 30-40 seconds to catch my breath when I first lay down. It alomst feels like I can't get air right away. I've been a little concerned about this and was wondering if it is common? I'm about 25 weeks.

Hi there. I had this a few weeks ago and I am only 15 weeks pregnant. As soon as I would lay down to go to bed, my heart was beating really hard and it felt like I was running a marathon which made me short of breath. I called my doctor and she told me it's very common since our hearts are working so hard to get the blood everywhere. She told me that if it kept on all the time to make an appointment but it hasn't been too bad at all lately.

I'm 12 weeks 3 days and overweight and experiencing this....and I don't think it is just the my weight because it only started happening after I was about 10 weeks. Laying down is when it is the worst.

Hi There, I am just under 13 weeks and this weekend I experienced alot of shortness of breath. It seems sometimes I just cannot catch it. I think it may be normal.
