Hi girls, I am 18 weeks, and about 2-3 weeks ago I noticed the back of my left leg behind my knee was all purple. Well it's continually gotten worse and tends to ache a bit.I'm guessing it's from a varicose vein although I never had these in my past two pregnancies. Something new all the time eh?! Has anyone else had this, or does anyone know if it will go away when I"m not pregnant anymore. It's freaking me out cause at my job I stand in one spot all day (bank).

i don't think they disappear without surgical treatment. my friend has got one because she does a job where she is on her feet all day too. hers gradually got worse until her doctor gave her a sick note and told her she had to leave work 12 weeks before her due date. im sure there are probably some creams that can disguise the vein but to get rid of it im sure there is a surgical operation they can do. ask your doctor/midwife about it when you see them next to ensure it doesnt get worse.
