Very Confusing Date Of When I Concieved Please Help Out

Right i had my last period on around the 26th of november. But i am 17 weeks ??? when i had an Scan to check for downs at 12 weeks-- 7th of march. This isnt right is it? my docter told me to get a scan but the midwife says i cant and that i must be what the people who done my downs scan put me too. I am haveing a ultra sound on the 27th of april to see if its a boy or a girl , would this confirn aswell how far gone i am. But how far gone SHOULD i be now if my last period was november 26th . Please help

By the date of your last period you should be 19 weeks

Go to the pregnancy calendar and type in last menstrual period start date as you remember and it should tell you how far along you should be if you conceived that cycle. Remember, sometimes things happen that do change the dating of the baby, when you get you next u/s they will know for sure how far along you are, based on the growth of the baby...

the 1st day of my last period was November 16, 2004 and according to the u/s i will be 20 weeks on sat. april 9th...hope this helps

Yeah I just had a discussion with my doctor on the confusion of dating today. They go by date of your last period to count how many weeks you are. For whatever reason they don't go by when you ovulate even if you KNOW when you ovulated. They count back what is normally two weeks from that and that is normally when your LMP was. I told her it made no sense and asked her why and she said she wondered the same thing for years but that is just the way it is. Date it by LMP.
