I am not sure how true it is, but mommies say that once you see your baby everything changes. Make ensuring that your baby has a good home, whether through adoption or if you decide to keep it, motivation. Hopefully someone who has been or is in a situation similar to yours will see your post and be able to offer you some more encouraging words. Good Luck!

Hi Meg, When I was pregnant with my first child, for awhile I was thinking "why did I plan this baby? I can't take care of it! I can't take care of ME!" I also started to lose joy in most of the things/activities that I used to like. I made an appointment with my doctor eventually and he diagnosed me with a depression that hits some women during pregnancy.Especially those with little support and unplanned pregnancies. He gave me some diet modifications and activities to try out but I was still dragging until the middle of my first trimester. I started to feel better then. Not 100% but better. When I saw my son's face after delivery, I was shocked! All my worries and depressed feelings vanished. It was all replaced by a feirce desire to protect my son and be there for him. You should see your pract_tioner. He may have some ideas on what you can do to get back on track. Sometiems the answer is simple. Sometimes it isn't. I hope for your sake it is an easy one because thats an awful feeling to have. Don't worry about your ability to care for a child. They don't come with manuals but its something that you learn as time goes on. They have parenting cla__ses as well if you are still unsure. Ask your doctor about them. I hope I helped at least a little...and I hope it all works out for you.
