Itchy Nipples Day 30 Of Cycle

I am 43 yrs old... I have been trying to conceive for over a yr. I usually get br___t tenderness right before my period but right now I have very itchy nipples and they hurt in my bra but only the nipples no br___t tenderness. My period was due yesterday September 15 and I didn't get it. I have no other symptoms other than what I just described. I don't have any redness, I didn't change my brand of body soap, or laundry. Can this be pregnancy? I don't want to get my hopes up high.
